The entire Party had gathered at Steve's house for a get-together when Mike stumbled upon a photo.
Mike: Hey, is this you when you were younger? Who's the woman in the photo?
Steve: Oh, that's my mom - I mean, my nanny. She was the best. Funny story, though, up until I was like six. I didn't know that she wasn't my mom. I thought my parents were people who worked for her and not the other way around. I was a bit slow, but I figured it out. *laughs* Wait, why aren't you laughing?
Joyce: Oh, honey.

Modern!Steddie (This is based on something I read a while back on Tumblr about Eddie becoming famous, Steve getting doxxed, and years later singing Hozier's Francesca to Eddie. I'll look for the fic, and if I find it, I'll put the link here.) EDIT: This is the fic here, guys. I recommend reading it. (https://archiveofourown.org/works/48091627/chapters/121266283)
Steve has always been one of the popular kids, but not the kind of childish villains you see in movies. No, he was popular because he was handsome, had rich parents, was charismatic, and was good at sports. He didn't bully other kids, but he wasn't interested in them either.
He never felt the need to seek out new connections at school, because he'd had Tommy and Carol for years, and anyone new who wanted to talk to him would come to him. He didn't have to work hard to make new friends.
His time was spent on sports and the friends he already had. The occasional girlfriend, too, because he'd always been a romantic at heart and a lonely kid. Being best friends with a couple would also make him feel like a third wheel a lot, so having a girlfriend and double dates seemed cool.
Then he got into a fight with Tommy and Carol after that graffiti episode in the movies and they drifted apart. Tommy wasn't mean about it, but he was resentful and hostile, because they were best friends and it always sucks to lose a friend to a boyfriend/girlfriend who you think cheated on them.
After a year, when he and Nancy broke up, he, Tommy and Carol didn't get back together, but they weren't hostile, you could tell they felt bad for him. Steve wanted to be friends with them again, he just didn't feel right crawling back with his tail between his legs and he also felt guilty that they never reconnected before. He didn't want it to seem like he only got back together because he was single.
He's still popular, but now his best friends aren't around anymore and he got cheated on by his girlfriend, but he feels like he deserved it (let's just say the story they made up about Barbara dying was real and the trauma grew into a monster and consumed their entire relationship). So he feels alone.
He has the kids. But Dustin thinks he's awesome and he doesn't want to be anything less, Lucas also sees him as a hero, willing to take a beating for him, Max looks up to him as a big brother. Will is Jonathan's brother and has traumas, so Steve would never dump his problems on the kid. Mike is Nancy's brother.
All of his real friends are kids.
So, Eddie. Steve isn't lonely around school, he still interacts with other students, he's friendly with the popular crowd, a lot of people like him. He just has these moments where he seems sad and then suddenly he seems super chill again.
Anyone who looks closely can tell he's got a problem and pretends not to, but it's not obvious. Eddie doesn't think much of it at first. He actually finds it amusing, because he has a lot of shallow and superficial ideas about popular kids who conform to the norm and who are well-off.
Eddie comes over when he sees Steve reading a DnD rulebook. He mocks it a bit, but explains a few things and Steve, who has always been a social butterfly and never cared much about sitting at the same table as some group in the cafeteria, sits down with Hellfire.
Not with the intention of being their friend, just because he wanted to ask them questions, take notes and move on with his life. A brief connection, a friendly interaction. No different from his relationship with most people who are part of his social circle.
But Eddie keeps pulling him closer, invites him to join the Hellfire Club. Steve declines, because he likes the stories and wanted to learn about DnD because of the kids, but he feels insecure about being a player, about roleplaying, he's afraid of making the wrong decisions and ruining something that seems to be so important to their friends (both the kids and Eddie).
Eventually, they fall in love.
Steve graduates without much distinction and Eddie barely makes it, but they are free from high school. While Eddie continues to play concerts at the Hideout with the CC boys, Steve works at Scoops Ahoy and makes friends with Robin.
So, when Eddie decides to leave, Steve asks them to wait a little, to save up more money, to get better organized. If they stayed for a whole year, Robin could even leave with them. When Eddie doesn't agree, he says they can continue their relationship long-distance. After all, it's 2010 and there's technology for that.
Eddie leaves anyway, believing that Steve will regret it and look for him, understand that leaving is the right choice and blah blah blah. Steve can't leave yet, because if he moves out, if he doesn't follow the path his parents have laid out, he'll give up any illusion of family he might have had. His car is in his father's name, he doesn't have much savings, he's still not open about being bisexual and he's terrified of leaving his entire life behind. It's hard in Hawkins, but facing the whole world, the uncertainty, not having a home to go back to… It scares him. Eddie doesn't understand, because if nothing else worked out for him, he could go back to Wayne and be welcomed with open arms.
One of Eddie's first hit songs is about a preppy, popular, charismatic kid who's the captain of the swim team and lives in Loch Nora who starts dating him in his senior year and gets stuck in a shitty job at the mall. It's easy to figure out who Steve is. People at school find out quickly.
I like to think Carol is the one who alerts him, goes to his job to tell him the rumors. Tommy goes with her. Although Carol is kinder and more open and Tommy keeps his distance, as if he might be infected, he also tells Steve to be careful, for old times' sake.
Either way, he becomes a target. The students tell their parents that they believe the hit song is about Steve. This story even gets around the church that his parents donate to and "attend" when they're around. His parents' friends find out. His business partners find out. His parents, too.
His parents suddenly move back home. It was a huge fight, with his mother accusing him of being possessed, suggesting a treatment to "cure" him. Mr. Harrington said it was due to a lack of beatings. Either way, it ended with him bleeding alone in the street.
A few days later, he and Robin managed to return to "steal" some of his belongings back, including documents. Other than that, he lost everything.
Mr. Wheeler didn't even want him to get close to Mike anymore.
For a while, he spends his days between the Hendersons' couch and Robin's bedroom floor, feeling like shit and listening to the music Eddie wrote over and over again.
After that, he sells his cell phone, his laptop, whatever he managed to keep. Robin also sells some of her things and the kids help with this small fundraising, selling cakes and sweets. Even Tommy and Carol seek them out, providing almost 50% of the money. That way, Steve is able to leave with a few months' rent saved.
Wayne also helped, because he knew that Eddie's music was responsible for this. Steve told him never to talk about everything that happened with Eddie, so Wayne kept it a secret.
I think Tommy, Carol and Steve could get back to being friends. Not the same as before, but they have lunch together every few months and they were the ones who helped Steve get a job in a new city.
A few months later, Corroded Coffin is well established, about to release its first album. Robin goes to college and Steve and she move in together.
That's when other people start to find out who Steve is too. It starts with a post on Reddit, people speculating about him, which is the central theme of several songs, although none are as explicit about his identity as the first. His parents receive some hate mail, they make a point of sending it to the Buckleys and Steve finds out. What hurts the most is knowing that his parents never gave him any of his belongings, but they found a way to let him know that people he didn't even know hated him.
He gets some hate messages too, because, although he deleted his old accounts, the new ones are easy to find through the profiles of people who knew him before all this. So, they're probably students from school, people know what Robin's social networks are, finding him.
There isn't much hate coming his way because he's careful to keep to the shadows, and thankfully the speculation about Steve Harrington being responsible for breaking Eddie Munson's heart doesn't go that far, after all, there's nothing to keep fueling those theories.
One of the things that connected Eddie to Steve was music. I like to think of Steve as a musician, like Joe Keery is. If Eddie can pour out his anger through music, he can also pour his heart into it. He writes Unknown/Nth and posts it to an anonymous YouTube account. He sings with an acoustic guitar, without showing his face.
For a while, this feels like closure.
Steve still gets hate mail sometimes, even though he deletes the old accounts and creates new ones. Everyone in Hawkins seems to know about him and Eddie. The kids, who hated Eddie for a while, have reluctantly started to admire him again. Steve reassured them about this, but they all remained bitter about everything that happened.
Steve, for his part, has vacillated between hating Eddie and hating himself. Most of the time, he still feels like he maybe loves Eddie a little bit, as if he’s stuck on that last day they saw each other. Sometimes he blames himself for making the wrong decision. Other times he thinks that if he hadn't stayed in Hawkins, Eddie might never have made it big.
His feelings for Eddie are complicated.
So, about 5 years after the breakup, there's a documentary about the beginning of Corroded Coffin. Something not produced by them. Maybe by a fan? Who goes to Hawkins, talks to people, tells them about Steve, exposes Steve and it goes viral on social media.
His life goes to shit very quickly. Eddie doesn't even notice at first, because CC is on a world tour and they never have free time. Meanwhile, Steve becomes well-known on social media and gets some hate mail.
Things change a bit when someone, seeing old photos of Steve, posts on Reddit that they have a crazy theory: there's a song they've been listening to for years, that's a lost gem in the depths of YouTube and they swear that's Steve Harrington, because the moles match and you can see a Hawkins High jacket in the background. It's a pretty crazy theory, so it doesn't get much attention, but the song gains momentum.
Eddie finds out because, once he learned everything that happened, he started researching everything about Steve, trying to measure how much he ruined his life.
Assuming people find out that the song is really about Eddie, I think he could become the target of hate, almost as much as Steve did, because Unknown/Nth is a powerful song.
That's what I've thought, for now. They get back together in the end because Eddie's actions had terrible consequences, but he never meant to hurt Steve like that and the biggest culprits for everything that happened are his parents. The hate from the fans wasn't that intense until the documentary, so it was hard to notice.
Anyway, they have a long way to go. A talk to clear up their last fight, a lengthy apology from Eddie, reconnecting with the kids, getting back to being friends.
It would be terribly sad and difficult. It definitely wouldn't be a fairy tale, but they could learn to trust each other. Eddie could earn Steve's trust, affection, and friendship, and one day they could be a couple again.

@steddiemas Day 16: Angst-Themed (Saturday Sentence Starters)
wc: 1k | Rated: T | cw: Steve’s parents are arguing (he is overhearing it briefly but there are some descriptions of yelling), toxic family dynamics, unstable marriage, cheating
Tags: Steve Harrington Has Bad Parents, Angst with a Happy Ending, Unstable Marriage, Toxic Family Dynamics, Cheating
Tumblr media
“I don’t want to fight with you, Caroline,” Steve hears his father bellow from downstairs, “Not tonight.”
He snaps his comic closed and tosses it on the floor.
Steve has no idea what his parents are arguing about. Hell, they don’t even need an excuse these days, he thinks. Someone can so much as fart and it will start a goddamn screaming match.
He guesses he shouldn’t be surprised. It’s the holidays and his parents are both off work until the beginning of the New Year. It’s snowing heavy out so they can’t go down to the Martens’ house – their best friends-come-buffer zones.
“Oh, John!” his mother chides before there is a lower muffle that he can’t quite make out.
While being hard of hearing allows him not to hear anything below a shout, the broken argument is still frustrating.
His parents might not need an excuse to fight, but he’d still like to know what it’s about. Gain intel for the inevitable coming days of being stuck in the middle.
Steve has a few guesses as to what it could be.
His mother bought a new car with her Christmas bonus finally topping up her bank account and thus justifying an indulgent and expensive purchase. His father always hates that.
Steve smirks.
If his father didn’t like that kind of independence, why did he marry a high-paid lawyer?
But, the more likely scenario considering his father’s apparent insistence he ‘doesn’t want to fight’ is that he is cheating again.
Cindy, his secretary, or someone new – take your pick.
The telltale signs have been there for a month or two. A renewed cheery attitude, longer office hours, a fresh haircut and new clothes.
Actually, now that he thinks about it, it might be a little bit of a motivator behind his mother’s car purchase too –
“ – Cindy!” his mother shrieks.
Yep, there it is.
Steve rolls off the bed, planting his feet on the carpet right by his shoes.
“Fuck this,” he mutters, scooping up his keys and wallet from the nightstand.
He’s just about halfway to Forest Hills, driving at a snail’s pace because he can’t see for snow, when he begins to regret his decision to leave the house.
Maybe he shouldn’t just barge in on the Munsons unannounced. Like sure, his friendship with Eddie is… teetering on not being entirely platonic. But this might be too much.
He always thought it was too much when he’d walk down to stay at Carol Perkins’ house for an impromptu sleepover. And there was always this awkward, knowing going on with the Wheeler’s when he was dating Nancy and spending a lot of time just hanging about.
Lingering for too long in the kitchen chatting to Karen or watching a game with Ted until the guy started snoring too loud to hear the commentators.
It was all there but largely unspoken.
Only Robin knows the details. And even then, he’s sure that her father’s friendliness towards him was partly due to his daughter telling him all about the trouble at the ‘ol Harrington house. He doesn’t blame his best friend for likely doing so. And he doesn’t consider it blabbing, either. Robin’s parents – her whole family – are amazing.
But some of his parent’s shit is stupid at best, hard to take at worst.
And he is scared to let Eddie in on it.
It’s too much.
He’s too much.
Being a Harrington is too much.
Wayne answers the door with a cup of cocoa that seems glued to his left hand in winter.
“Steve,” he says, voice gruff as ever despite a warm smile.
“Hi,” he replies, looking down at his snow-covered boots, “Eddie in?”
Of course, he’s in, his van is parked outside.
Steve can feel the warmth from inside the trailer. See the twinkle of lights from the Munson’s small, but heavily-decorated, Christmas tree. The smell of cocoa overpowering the ever-present hint of cigarettes.
“Eddie!” Wayne calls over his shoulder, “Steve’s here.”
In a flash, Eddie runs to the front door and practically bumps into his uncle.
“Come in!” he insists, wide-eyed as he looks past his shoulder at the falling snow.
And before Steve can even step in, Eddie is pulling him by his parka sleeve. He only just manages to scrape off his boots on the ‘Home Sweet Home’ adorned welcome mat.
“What some cocoa?” Eddie offers, eliciting a grumble from Wayne.
“I asked if you wanted some,” he chides.
“But Steve might want some,” Eddie grins.
“How about I heat up a pot now, and whoever wants some’s got it?” Wayne suggests, pursing his lips at Eddie and moving to the stove before his nephew can make any more requests.
“Follow me,” Eddie says, grabbing his hand, “I made cookies.”
He wiggles his brows and begins leading Steve to the kitchen.
As he is pulled along, Steve tries not to think about the fact that they are holding hands. Or how he wishes his fifteen-minute-ago Self had thought to bring an overnight bag and allowed himself to assume the Munsons would allow him to stay the night.
But it might be even harder to stop himself from squeezing his friend’s hand and lacing his fingers with Eddie’s.
Eddie lets go of his hand to gesture to the tray of Christmas-themed shapes, all looking a little too dark for gingerbread as they rest on the kitchen island.
“Pick one, Big Boy,” Eddie beams.
Steve reaches for a reindeer, flexing his fingers as he goes and commits the feeling of Eddie’s rings to memory.
“No!” Eddie shrieks, lightly smacking his hand enough that he drops it, leaving the cookie to snap in half as it falls back onto the tray, “His antlers are broken.”
“Christ, boy!” Wayne curses, stirring the pot on the stovetop.
Okay, a tree then…
“The star is missing!”
A bell?
“That was already snapped in half when I got them out of the oven”, Eddie admits with a tight-lipped smile.
Steve places his hands on his hips and rolls his eyes. To him, they all look at least a little crumbly – some he would even describe as lightly charred.
“How about you pick one for me then, Betty Crocker?” he chuckles.
Eddie giggles, twirling a lock of his hair as he carefully considers the tray of mostly broken, dry cookies.
He watches Eddie for a long enough time that Wayne pushes a mug into his hand, the warmth of Eddie’s hand remaining in place due to the heat of the cocoa. It’s a Chicago Cubs mug, one that he finds himself holding at some point each time he is here as if Wayne considers it Steve’s own.
He smiles for the first time in three days.

Okay, so, Slick Sunday!
(I had a nap and I totally forgot that was today, help)
I recently read a fic where if you were abused as a kid you could be either a early presenting Alpha, or a Late presenting Omega, and therefore those were bad things
So my brain got working on it, and then swerved to the left by presenting me with (and I know this is going to sound kinda weird, but please stick with me):
Early presented Alpha! Eddie meets and accidentally triggers Omega! Steve's presentation as kids.
And bc they're kids I HC that since their bodies aren't really developed heats and ruts are more like a really intense desire to cuddle, you know?
So it's these two kids who meet at a park without any parents around start cuddling in a bench and bc instincts are strong™ they bond.
Cue to the Harringtons putting Steve into heavy suppressants at 10 bc breaking a bond at that age could potentially kill him.
But still the shock of the whole thing makes both Steve and Eddie forget who they bonded with and therefore we can add so much angst to their highschool years together, like, they both feel the pull to teach other, but Eddie thinks he just has a dumb crush and feels bad about it bc he's already bonded, while Steve is just wondering why he feels fond of the weirdo from school idk, idk, haven't thought of how they would find out, tbh
Also, in this scenario I was picturing like, Eddie recently moved in with Wayne and he's like, 12, Steve is 10.
The Harringtons also offered Wayne more money than GOD to taki Eddie somewhere else and break the bond as soon as possible. Wayne didn't take the money, of course.
I also HC that they were happily bonded for like, a week before the parental intervention, lmao
Ooooh alright yeah that’s sad as fuck, I love it! Traumatic childhood bond that’s forced apart and devastates them both, but they can’t even recall entirely what happened. Maybe they start hanging around later in high school or they’re paired up for a project and Eddie ends up at Steve’s house and his parents flip their shit beaches they think they know the truth?

CW: Infertility (Coming from my own experience just...with a uterus.)
Thinking right now about Steve who wants his own family really bad, but finds out he's 100% infertile.
He only finds out after a failed marriage. His first marriage. Has a beautiful, wonderful, just absolutely incredible wife who accepts everything about his past—stuff he won't talk about and otherwise. Yet, the one thing they knew for certain was a definite in their relationship was children. However, for some reason (that I don't have), his wife rejects the idea of adopting children. So they try. They try and try and try.
Eventually, they get their eggs and sperm analyzed. Her eggs are healthy, her uterus is fine, no complications associated with her ovaries.
Steve, in his next visit, finds out he's infertile. It's not genetically caused. His parents were very fertile, just decided to have only one child. And—maybe due to some Upside Down bullshit; bat bites being untreated, injuries being too traumatic—his sperm production and his sperm vitality are completely destroyed.
He's devastated, of course he is. Brings it up to his wife. They agree to go their separate ways because this was something they both wanted, but now can't have.
And then he just floats about for a while. Quiet and disheartened.
He goes back to Hawkins and bumps into Eddie. Now, I'm thinking, personally, that this isn't some romance story. They're strictly platonic in this scenario (for now).
They get to talking and somewhere in the conversation, Steve's infertility comes up. Eddie tries to gently explain to him that there's other options to have children. "Foster care," he says, "it's where I was for a while. You can adopt from an orphanage, from a hospital. There's always the option for surrogacy, y'know. A lot of different"—
"Eds," Steve interrupts, "I appreciate this, but I...I don't want to talk about it anymore. It hurts too much to think about."
"Sorry," Eddie apologizes.
Steve just shakes his head, resigned. "It's not your fault," he murmurs, "guess I'm just upset that my body doesn't work the way it's supposed to."
"Not everybody's works the way it's supposed to, Steve."
"Yeah," he whispers, "but I was sorta hoping my own would."
There's a lull in the conversation. A long while of just silence and a cigarette being passed and the gentle rustle of trees around them. Outside, in the Forest Hills trailer park, staring down a set of rusted swings.
"How do you think I should handle this, Eddie?"
"Hm?"
"This...this body issue. What am I supposed to do about it? I'm, like...like grieving over nothing."
"You grieve, Steve," Eddie answer simply, "you get angry and you cry. That's all you can really do."
"I don't want to be angry, though. I want...I want to be happy. I want my dream to come true! I want"—he sighs and swallows and looks on ahead of him. To a place he once visited constantly when he still lived full-time in Hawkins, not just passing through. Out on a town that he once called home, a place where he couldn't be the person he wanted to be. Couldn't get what he needed.—"I want to love my kid in a way I never got."
And Eddie looks to him. To his profile. Shuffles closer, cigarette out on the porch. Arm wrapping over Steve's shoulders, tugging him in. "I know," Eddie whispers, "I'm sorry, Steve. I'm really, really sorry."
"It's not your fault, Eds."
"It's not yours either."
He keeps staring out. To a place that was hopeful. Where his dreams bared new. When things seemed reasonable and he could face everything head-on and knew exactly what he wanted for himself. A future of laughter and soft lullabies and hugs warm enough to soothe the world.
There'll be other chances. But not now. Not when he's like this.
"I know," he merely mutters, "I know."

Family Planning 3
Part 2
Eddie was being led down the hallway by the scruff of his jacket like an unruly pup by Coach Williams while Steve was being led by the shoulder like he was somehow more delicate. They were sat down in a familiar scene in the principal’s office while their parents were being called and Woolsley cleaned up as best as he could.
Still, when he got to the office and took his seat, he had red staining his suit. Both boys gave valiant efforts, trying to hide their snickering behind wobbling smiles.
“Laugh all you want, boys. We’ll see how funny it is when your parents arrive.”
“What exactly are we being charged with?”, Eddie asked, crossing his legs.
“Let’s start with classroom disruptions. And let’s continue with disorderly conduct. And how about we include theft from the theatre department. Oh and let’s not forget inciting a riot.”
“We didn’t incite a riot!”, Steve argued. He was still wearing the fake stomach and thanks to Gareth’s prowess, only had a bit of sauce on his jeans.
“Watch your volume”, Woolsley pointed a warning finger at him.
“Their families are here, sir”, the secretary announced.
They were waved in and now it was both Mr. and Mrs. Harrington and Eddie’s uncle Wayne Munson. Steve’s parents gawked at the sight of him and Wayne only shook his head.
“What’ve you gotten up to this time?”
“Just a being a showman”, Eddie shrugged.
“Steven Arthur Harrington! What are you wearing?”, his mother gasped.
Steve was at a loss of words. It had all seemed like a good idea in the beginning. Actually, it still did. He didn’t know why they were acting like he and Eddie really pulled a baby from his womb. It was just a joke.
“It was just a joke.”
“This”, Richard pointed to Steve’s stomach. “Doesn’t look like a joke. It looks like some upstart alpha has forgotten himself and is making your forget yourself.” Then he pointed to Eddie. “You better stop sniffing around my son-”
“And you better stop pointin’ your finger at my boy”, Wayne said.
“He needs to quit while he’s ahead before this becomes a real problem.”
Two alphas filling the room with tension and not even bothering to hide their scent about it made Steve’s shoulders hunch up a bit. How did a stupid joke turn into all of this? Then his mother spoke up.
“Our son has never done anything like this, which leads me to believe that your nephew-”
“Why does everyone assume it was all Eddie? That I had nothing to do with it?”, Steve accused, standing up. “I’m the one that put this thing on and I’m the one that got up on the desk and shot the sauce.”
“And that’s because of his bad influence”, Richard nodded his head at Eddie.
Wayne put his hands on his hips. “That’s funny because I see two young men here in the hot seat, not just one.”
“Alright, gentlemen”, the principal finally spoke up before looking to Eddie and Steve. “Boys, go and wait outside. As a matter of fact, you can take that back to the prop storage”, he jabbed a finger at Steve’s belly.
Thoroughly dismissed, they did just that, walking out together. Feeling a little humiliated, Steve took the fake stomach off. He could only imagine what they were discussing behind the door. His dad would probably fight tooth and nail, if not for Steve’s sake for his reputation at least. Unfortunately, it had to be said that he didn’t have such high hopes for Eddie.
“Well, that reception could’ve gone better”, Eddie said.
“Understatement of the century”, Steve grumbled.
They got to the theatre department and Steve put the stomach into a box after checking that it was all good. Eddie could smell the bitter undertone in his scent, even in the musty storage room.
“You know, worst case scenario, we need to do a little summer school to make this up.”
“Some of us like having a free summer, Munson.”
“Oh, Munson now is it? What happened to my sweet little mama-to-be?”
Not in the mood for jokes now, Steve just rolled his eyes and turned to walk out. Eddie didn’t need to get a whiff to know that his joke had landed flat. He followed Steve out, tripping over something feathery in his haste to catch up to the omega. He didn’t know what Steve was more turned off by, having to continue the project together, or having to call it quits here and do some other make up assignment.
“Hey, hey, I know I’m not like your idea of a perfect alpha or anything.”
Steve stopped in his tracks and turned to lean back against a locker, crossing his arms. “Come on, man. Give yourself a break. You’re not that bad.”
Eddie put a hand to his chest. “My word! That almost sounded like a compliment!”
“Keep it up and I’ll take it back”, Steve said, grinning a little now.
Feeling welcomed, Eddie came to stand next to him, their shoulders almost touching. Steve smelled a little sweeter now and his body wasn’t as tense.
“You really are hot and cold. Can’t you be a little warmer to your baby daddy?”, Eddie batted his lashes.
Steve leaned over and into his space. “A good alpha would put in some real effort to warm me up.”
Eddie hesitated for only a moment before he leaned in a little as well. Steve smoothed his cheek over Eddie’s and breathed in deep. No one had scented Eddie besides his uncle and he stood stock still as Steve did it.
“You smell really good, you know. I don’t think I’ve ever told you.” To be honest, Steve had never taken a moment to savor in Eddie’s scent. But now that he was taking his time to do so…
“Steven Arthur Harrington!”
Eddie jumped back like it was his own name being shouted down the hallways. So hard that the sound of the locker slamming echoed in the mostly empty hallway. Steve’s parents collected him and carted him out so quickly that Eddie got whiplash. Wayne came up to him much more calmly and patted his shoulder.
“Do I gotta to the full name treatment for you?”
“If you say my middle name out loud I’ll run away from home”, Eddie threatened.
“Son at your age, it’s just called ‘moving out’.”
Both walked out, shoulders shaking with chuckles and that was when Wayne told him what was what.
“We managed to get you both a deal. You can do the project as intended, new sack of flour and all. Just no more funny business.”
“That’s it?”, Eddie asked as he was walked to his van.
“No funny business at all. No causing trouble for yourself or that other boy. Think you can keep your hands clean for an entire year?”
The Harringtons had already left, probably sped out of the parking lot to keep from running into the Munsons again. But even so, it was easy to remember Steve’s fleeting smile and the scent that wafted off of him when he was feeling content or even happy.
“I think I can do that”, Eddie said, resolute.

First of all, love what you wrote for the Murray prompt. Second, I got another one if you want it. Steve's parents are really nice and cool and supportive of him, they are just very busy with work and he understands, but they find out Steve and Eddie are dating and Eddie is in a band so they show up to one of his shows to be supportive. Cue semi-embarissing parent moment they both secretly love
ok first, thank you! and thank you for sending these prompts, they are lovely and im having a wonderful time thinking of the scenarios. now lets get on with the show...
Steve always calls his parents once a week. His dad's job requires him to be abroad a lot and after a misunderstanding, a bad secretary, and his mom's very jealous, very fiery personality she started traveling with him, only for them to pleasantly discover she was actually very good at making connections and closing deals so it became a thing.
So yes, his parents are not there a lot but that doesn't mean they weren't there for Steve. They talk a lot over the phone, they tell him about the places they've seen, the cute clothes his mom bought for him, the way she embarrassed a sexist businessman in Spain by responding to him in perfect Spanish to a comment about her dress. They worry about him being alone in that big house and encourage him to have friends over all the time. They ask about work, they know everything about Robin and Dustin and the kids, had been very proud of him for babysitting, thinking it was about him wanting to have more of his own money.
His dad is a man of few words and very strict but he means well and his mother is a force to be reckoned with, loud, unapologetic, and loving.
She talks a lot and has a way of making Steve talk a lot too, to get things out of him. When he's not feeling well she can always tell and she always makes him talk through his feelings. Which is why, his parents know about Steve's crush.
So when they come home for a weekend in the summer, and after he cooks dinner for them, he says he's going out for a bit,
"There's a show at The Hideout, Eddie's band is playing, is it okay if I go?" he asks. He usually stays with them the whole time they are back in town since they don't see each other a lot, but he figures they'll understand this one time.
"Of course amor, but don't stay up too late, you said you'd go trekking with me in the morning," his mom answers, so he smiles at them and, then he's off.
He goes, meets with Nancy and Robin there, listens to Corroded Coffin, and sighs enchanted as if he was hearing ballads instead of heavy metal. The band spots them and they wave and smile, Eddie winks at him making him blush and he has a great time.
Except halfway through the show, he notices people moving out of the way and hears murmurs so he looks and- jesus fuck is that his mother?!
And yes, of course it's her, Marina Harrington's hair only rivals his own, it's noticeable everywhere. The tight red dress isn't helping either and his fucking father, in a suit, hovering behind her and glaring at people who stare at her isn't helping either. He quickly goes other to them, and he walks- he does not stomp like his mother tells him he did later. And asks,
"Mom! Dad! What the- What are you doing here!?"
"Esteban! Well, we wanted to meet that boy you like, you said his band was playing?" his mom tells him excitedly.
"Is this them?" Richard asks, looking like he's smelling something awful.
"Oh don't be mean Dick! It's not that bad!" Marina says but then flinches at a particularly loud yell from Jeff and Richard hums and smiles at her, pulling her close.
"Okay no, sweety this is horrible," she says chuckling and leaning closer to her husband.
Steve snorts, "I like it, just because it's not what we usually listen to, doesn't mean it's bad," he says defensibly. Marina smiles at him and lifts her hand to touch his hair but he slaps her away,
"I think you have heart ears," she says and Richard nods and then lifts his shoulders like he's trying to hide his head inside his body so he doesn't have to listen to them anymore.
"Ok, no. You guys need to leave, you are attracting so much attention!" Steve whines and his mom is talking about 'nonsense' and 'lets get closer' when Nancy and Robin show up behind him,
"Mr and Ms Harrington! It's good to see you! what are you doing here?" Nancy asks, probably worried, she must think there's no way they'd be here unless something bad was happening. Steve groans and pinches his nose.
Richard nods at her politely, "Ms Wheeler" And Marina purses her lips, refusing to acknowledge her, and looks over her shoulder, and that's when she spots Robin and lets out a delighted little 'oh!'
"You must be Robin! Oh hi, darling, we've heard so much about you!" she squeals at her and hugs her.
Robin stands completely frozen for a second before slapping her back awkwardly, "Uhm hiii, Ms Harrington"
His mom and Robin talking is actually kind of scary Steve thinks while he puts a hand on Nancy's shoulder, "Sorry" he says regarding his mom, who never forgave Nancy for breaking Steve's heart, even if Steve did. Nancy smiles at him and shakes her head, then shrugs.
"Ah!" Richard says then, and Marina and Robin stop their chatting to look at him,
"Riqui?" Marina wonders looking at where his dad is pointing at the stage now,
"I know which one is Eddie" he says smirking, and stage-whispers in her ear, "Long curly hair, big dark eyes"
Marina's eyes light up and actually jumps up and down in her place, "Oh, of course! It's so obvious now! Ay Esteban, es lindo!"
Nancy and Robin giggle and Steve hides his face in his hands and groans.
"Guys, please. Leave. If you wanted to meet him you should've said something I would've-"
"Oh please, don't lie to me jovencito! You've never brought him home to meet us," Marina interrupts him.
Steve sighs and nods, "Yeah you are right" and then looks at his dad, like he can reason with him, "But I will tomorrow, if you leave now?" he begs.
And he's about to answer when Eddie taps the mic and talks, "Hey so, this next song is a little different from our usual but it's a good one, and I would like to dedicate it to someone very special to m- us" he says and then his eyes find Steve and Steve gasps and his dad hums and his mom squeals, it's all very confusing.
Eddie is blushing and looking intently at him, smiling when he notices Steve gasp, knowing he understood he was talking about him. The first notes of Dancing in The Dark start playing and Steve realizes, this is a confession. The thing he was waiting for, hoping for, dreaming of... finally. He gives Eddie a big smile back and bites his lips excitedly.
But then Eddie's eyes drift over Steve and go huge when he notices the couple standing behind him. Fuck, right...his parents are here. Eddie's mouth opens in an 'o' shape and stays like that for a second and then he blinks, smirks mischievously, and shakes the hair out of his eyes,
"This one goes to that lovely couple in the back!" he yells, waving back at Marina who is waving at the band excitedly, and then he starts singing.

Untitled Song
An installment in the The Interview universe.
"This is a love song."
"What? No, it's not!" Steve argues, looking back down at the notebook.
"It reads like a love song. The little bit you just sang for me has love song vibes," Robin leans more of her weight onto Steve's back, where she's standing over his shoulder reading the lyrics.
He stares down at the page. "Yeah. Okay. I see it. But, like, I didn't mean it to be all love song vibey."
"I would do it again if I could hold you for a minute," Robin reads in a flat tone, unimpressed.
"Okay! Stop, I don't- I mean- ugh!" Steve slumps forward, resting his forehead on the page of lyrics. "Okay, fine, but like, in context I'm clearly talking about like, reliving my whole life. I would do it all again."
"Did you just say that this is clearly about your whole life because if so, I want to be on the same drugs as you," Robin pushes off of him to move around the table and plop into the chair across from him. She tries her best to level him with a stare, but he doesn't give her the satisfaction by refusing to lift his head. The downside of being soulmates, she decides. He knows what she's going to do and when and can, therefore, avoid it. "Look, I get that he was, like, your first love and high school sweetheart but he couldn't have been that good of a fuck. It was just inexperience that made-"
"Robin!" Steve shouts over her, looking at her now so she can see his scandalized expression. Ha! She takes it back. It's an upside to being soulmates because she knows exactly what to say to rial him up. "It's not about the sex! It's about all of it. Everything. I don't- what Eddie did was shitty and it fucking hurt, but that was ten years ago. This song is about everything."
She doesn't see it that way, but even with how well she's able to read him, Steve's mind has always had its own way of thinking she can't quite nail down. With a sigh, she says, "Alright. Benefit of doubt time. Explain the song to me."
"It's not just about Eddie. It's about my whole life. You know how my parents were, how high their expectations were and how I had to hide almost everything about me while I lived with them. That's the my life was a storm since I was born. How could I fear any hurricane bit. And if I hadn't dated Eddie, like, at all. Well, I was already on the track to being an asshole in elementary school. Can you imagine who I would have been in high school if I was still that kid?
"It's also, like, if Eddie and I had stayed together... If we hadn't- I hadn't broken up with him, would I have met Dustin? Or Lucas and Max? Will or Mike, Nancy, and Jonathan? It's like, the years directly after Hey Steve were absolute dogshit, yeah, but it brought me all the people I love now," Steve looks down to the page again, either avoiding her eye contact or finding it too much. She's not sure which one. "If Eddie and I had stayed together there was only option for my future. Once the car had been fully put in my name, I'd have told Eddie to pick a city and we'd have left, for Eddie to chase his dream while I chased him. I wouldn't have gone to Chicago with you, never had the money to purchase that first place to live with you. Maybe never have discovered I loved interior design and house renovation. So, I would do it all again. It brought me my family."
She understands, now, what the lyrics really mean to him. However, she's also the one person in the whole world close enough to Steve to actually see it. "I get what you are saying. But these lyrics do not tell that story. Knowing your reasoning behind it does make me see them that way. But no one who hears that is going to know your tragic backstory."
"So, should I re-write this?"
"Depends. What is your goal with this... statement. What is the best case scenario."
Steve blinks at her. "Oh. Uh, best case, huh? I guess... I want to talk to Eddie, again. We parted on real bad terms, and I think I want closure from that?"
She narrows her eyes at him, judging. "Are you angry, like, at all?" She is. She's still furious with Eddie. His fucking song had blown Steve's life up virtually overnight. But also, she had thought they were friends, too. She hadn't realized their friendship was conditional, with that condition being he and Steve having to be in a relationship.
And, yeah, logically she knows she was Steve's friend first and it would be easy to default to believing she'd be on Steve's side but she wasn't. Not at first.
When Steve had shown up at her house, having gone straight from Eddie's to hers after he told them they were over, she'd held him through the night as he cried. But in the morning, she'd told him she needed to check on Eddie. He was her best friend, too. But Wayne told her he was gone, left last night to Chicago. Wayne had offered her a ride there with him, after he got Eddie's van running again and went to take it to him.
She said she'd think about it. Tried to reach out over all the socials, but Eddie didn't even check them, and then Hey Steve came out and there wasn't any room left in her to care about Eddie and his emotional state.
Not anymore. Not when he'd left her, too. Not when, even after Robin had made her own way to fame, he declined to meet with her. She'd tried to reach out but who was she, a new comer to the music scene and barely known, to Eddie Fucking Munson, lead guitarist to Corroded Coffin?
"I mean, sure, but like... it's been ten years. I don't- I have better things to think about than how mad I was... am? at Eddie. We were friends, first, y'know. And it's complicated. You know this," Steve says.
"Yeah, yeah," Robin waves off his words, "you're whole Eddie was a part of my life for longer than he's been gone from it thing. I'm not sure that the fifteen years of your childhood should be counted the same as this decade of adulthood."
"I get that you don't want to forgive him, and that's fine. But, forgiveness or not, I want closure."
"Okay. Keep the song as is."
"Really?"
"Yes," Robin says, a Cheshire cat grin spreading across her face. If Steve records and shares what sounds like a love song, there's almost a 100% chance that Gareth will reach out again. She knows they're expecting to see an angry and hurt Steve, but instead they'll get this? Robin's not above playing unfair. She hopes this breaks Eddie, consumes him with a guilt as deep as the original hurt felt. "I think we should let everyone think it's your sad, pathetic, pining for a decades-old-love song. It'll definitely get Gareth reaching out to me and my team again."
"Gareth's reached out?"
"It's his job. He's Corroded Coffin's PR Manager now, apparently. When Lauri told me Gareth had reached out, I asked to be included in the call. Anyway, not the point. The point is, if you want to talk to Eddie, this love song is the trick."
"It's not a love song!"
"Whatever you say, Dingus. Sing it again so I can imagine the music to go with it."

summery : Billy doesn't know why the inseparable Harrington twins aren't together at this party, but this is definitely his chance to hit on Y\N before Steve can snatch her from under his nose. Harrington jealously guards the innocence of his sister, and Hargrove just burns with the desire to try out her tight little pussy first.
TW's – pwp ( 18+ ), dirty talk, alcohol, rough sex, sex in the car, drunk sex, hickeys \ bites, cunnilingus, first time, mentioning of incest.

— Our parents have bad taste and no sense of humor. — Y\N Harrington says, and Billy absolutely agrees with you.
His laughter is disassembled by how equally trained the Harrington twins are in the manner of copying their rich dad. And if Steve's snobbery and ironed collars make him sick, then he would love to look under the short skirt of yours. If only out of a desire to tease Harrington once again, he never gets tired of this activity.
— You should have seen how his mother's face fell when Steve received a rejection letter from Harvard. — you continue to chirp. — She was already buzzing to her friends from the golf club that he would continue the tradition.
Heather Holloway nods and laughs, and Billy, who so successfully overhears this conversation, gets another interesting fact in a long list of things that the mention of which can upset Steve.
He is frankly bored at this stupid Carol party, but watching Harrington inflames him a little. You are wearing a stupid vest with diamonds and a v-neck, like some kind of nerd, but everything below immediately makes him close his eyes to it. A plaid skirt in a fold barely covers your hips, and it's already warm enough outside, so instead of tights, you put on high socks that do not hide small round knees.
Billy doesn't know why the inseparable Harrington twins aren't together at this party, but this is definitely his chance to hit on Y\N before Steve can snatch you from under his nose. Harrington jealously guards the innocence of his sister, and Hargrove just burns with the desire to try out her tight little pussy first.
— You bored, Harrington? — Billy knows your every response to any of his attacks, so it won't be difficult to make the right scenario.
— Fuck off, Hargrove. — you look at him with contempt and a slight disgust, and Billy remembers this look so that he can later recall them all to you. Heather is unobtrusively clinging to his thigh, but it's been no fun with her for a long time, so Billy brushes her off like an annoying fly.
— You'll make it your wish when you win at beer pong with me. — Billy laughs.
— Dont want to.
— How could I forget that you are the same cowardly bitch as your brother. — he knows all your weaknesses, counts three-two-one, got caught.
— Fuck you, Hargrove. — you are angry, but you had already lost, succumbing to his skillful manipulation.
A table is cleared for those two, the crowd closes in, watching with interest and egging on as soon as they take their seats on different sides.
It's only after the third drink that Harrington remembers who you contacted — it's Billy Hargrove, the king, your brother's main rival on the basketball court, he gets drunk very slowly and always hits the target. But you will not retreat, especially in front of so many people, even if your brother has lost his authority among their classmates, you are still Princess Harrington.
— You lost it, baby, — Billy grins. — You'll owe me a wish.
— No shit, Hargrove.
— Oh, it's going to be completely innocent. — he laughs, and the laughter sends shivers down your spine.
Fuck it, the main thing now is to get home before it finally covers you. But you are so drunk, drunk, drunk that you can't even handle the car keys.
— Do you need a ride? — Harrington flinches at the sound of someone else's voice, you didn't even notice how Billy followed you out of the house, and now he's parking right behind you.
The Camaro gleams invitingly with its polished body, and the last thing you are ever going to do is get into Billy Hargrove's car. Lower down on your “never" list is just getting home on foot.
— I'm not going to eat you, Harrington.
— Okay. — you say back and settle into the passenger seat.
Billy starts off at breakneck speed, the cabin smells stupefyingly of his cigarettes and cologne, the smell gets in his nose, and you open the window on your side to get at least a little. It's only a short drive from Carol's house, you can tolerate Hargrove's presence for a little longer. Your head is buzzing with beer, you havent drunk so much at a time before, your eyes sleepily close, despite the rock music coming from the player.
— Hey, princess, don't sleep. — Billy slaps the steering wheel and pulls off the road, parking behind the trees.
You blink and the next thing you feel is a hot wet tongue on your neck and hard calloused fingers on your knee. You want to scream, to push him away from you, because it's Billy, mother fucking Billy Hargrove, but you guessed what usually happens in this car and you sat down with him. His mouth draws in the skin on your neck, his hands skillfully climb under the vest and squeeze your chest through the shirt and bra. He smells sharp, touches you correctly, so that it twists in a knot in the stomach.
— Hargrove, stop it. — you fight back sluggishly, rest your palms on his shoulders.
— Have you been touched here before? — the fingers under the skirt stroke the hips, gently press through the lace, and you feel how hot and wet it becomes at the bottom.
—Yes. — you breathe into his ear, his lips parting in a grin and greedily dig into your mouth.
— I thought Princess Harrington was a good girl. — Billy presses harder with two fingers, moves in circles, with the other hand rips out the buttons on your perfectly white shirt, still not taking off a single thing from you. — Turns out she's a little wet slut.
You moan into his mouth, arching towards him under skillful hands.
— I'm not... I'm not a slut. — your breath is lost when Billy leaves the first sensitive hickey on your neck, you finally ceases to control the situation when the clothes gradually disappear from your body, and his teeth bite and pull the nipple. — Damn it.
— Yeah? — Billy pulls away, raising a malicious eyebrow, and you automatically reach for him. — And you look exactly like that now.
He moves into the backseat, pulls you behind him, undressing you hastily, crushes you, spreads you out like a pinned butterfly. You are wearing only those high socks and loafers, and a path of inflaming hickeys stretches from the smooth neck to the navel.
— I never had it with anyone.. — you whisper and get lost.
— Had what? — Billy teases, spreading your legs apart, buries his nose in the current narrow slit, rubs his tongue at the very entrance. — Haven't you fucked?
— Yeah.
— Just say it, princess, you're already a big girl. — he licks you greedily, tickles your clitoris with his lips, pressing his tongue, pushes two fingers at once, and you tremble under him, filled, tight, greedily embracing him with trembling walls. — And who were you saving your pussy for?
You arw silent, moaning with displeasure only when Billy takes his fingers out of you and pulls away.
— Answer me. — he grins and defiantly puts his fingers smeared in your grease in his mouth, sucking. — Do you want my dick, Harrington?
— Yes. — you sob and reache out to him with your hands, unbuttoning the buttons on your shirt with trembling fingers, with you mouth to your hard stomach, with the palms on sides.
—Stronger than his? — Billy doesn't move, allowing himself to be undressed.
— Yeah.. — you snap the buckle of his belt, pulls his jeans and underwear over his hips and freeze, as if not knowing what to do next.
— And who do you imagine when you touch yourself in the shower, Princess? — Billy reaches into the glove compartment for a condom.
— I'm not..
— Don't lie to me. — he slowly rolls the rubber band around his dick. — Or I'll drop you out of the car right now.
— Steve..
— What? I didn't hear you, baby. — Billy scoffs, laying you on your shoulder blades, passing his tongue from ear to collarbone.
—It's Steve. — you breathe, blushing.
— Little pervert. — he laughs, roughly pushing into you, immediately deep almost to the full length, looks fascinated as your mouth opens, as you eyes open, licks salty tears from rosy cheeks. — Imagining how your own brother fucks you?
You whimper and cling to his shoulders, breathe hunted and put your neck under the teeth, swinging you hips to wet squelching slaps of skin on skin.
— Please..
—What, Princess?
— I want to cum.
— Really? — he moves hard in you, driving you crazy with every thrust, returns his fingers to the clitoris, pressing.
— Billy... — you choke on a moan, choke with pleasure, smear your lips droolingly on his chin. Y\N Harrington is no better or worse than the other high school sluts Billy fucked in his car. But you is his little battle trophy.
He ends up slipping out of your body, helps you get dressed and put your hair in some semblance of order, and at a certain moment it seems to you that Billy Hargrove is not such an asshole. He tucks the lace panties into his jeans pocket. — Why?
— You owe me a wish. — Billy grins, returning to the driver's seat. He can already imagine Steve Harrington's furious face when he throws his sister's panties in his face in the locker room after basketball and says that you dropped them in the Camaro.
— Okay, asshole.

Note
sort of a fantasy/ angst scenario i’ve been thinking about… (I love your writing so much - maybe this is something?)
When Steve goes through a misunderstanding and breakup that has him socially exiled, everyone is mad, and feels justified when he disappears - they assume the worst of him and that he just up and left without telling anyone.
Years later - on the tail end of a series of unexplained natural disasters around the world stopping miraculously, he shows up - surrounded by a small group of people with a similar haunted look in their eyes and littered with more scars, maybe a hand that too metallic to be real.
Aka Steve is visited by a group of strangers, claiming he’s some sort of prodigal son of a Prophecy - disappears to end the apocalypse and shows up, years and a full hero's journey later, changed - and the others have the grapple with the fact that they’ve been wrong the entire time.
Or bonus - he never ends up showing up at all - a stranger shows up at their door during a party family gathering, battleworn, letter in hand about a burial taking place at the edge of town at dusk.
This was an INSANELY GOOD request. Like this could easily be a 100k fic, so I hope you're okay with me having very little backstory. I want someone to run with this ASAP. I didn't do the bonus part, but I stuck with a lot of the first part of it. Again, this was so hard to keep short, so I do hope someone makes this AU really deep and really solid. I don't know if you took ideas from a bunch of different fantasy novels or what but man this is gooooood shit. I hope I was able to do at least some of this justice! - Mickala ❤️
-----------------------------------------------------
Steve Harrington did not give up. He didn’t. He couldn’t.
Which is why he was leading his battleworn group back home.
It’s been years since he stepped foot in Hawkins, years of war, disaster, and pain. But walking through the gates of Hawkins was the scariest and bravest thing he’d done in five years.
Dustin limped along next to him, his leg hurt, but not broken. Max was on his other side, left eye blind and left arm broken, but in good spirits overall.
Lucas and Erica fell behind him, both physically fine, but mourning the loss of their parents in the latest earthquake.
Steve had given them an extra day before making the journey back, made sure they had a way to lay their parents to rest despite the chaos surrounding them.
Robin had gone ahead of them to announce his entrance, wanted to make sure that the town was prepared.
When Steve left five years ago, the only people who knew were the people currently with him. They followed him, without question, the moment he said he had to go. They were children when they left, could barely offer anything but their support at first, but over the years grew into the type of soldiers anyone would be lucky to have on their side.
He broke Nancy's heart, he broke his promise to his parents to stay in Hawkins until he turned 21, and the world broke around him.
He made a choice that day, a difficult one, but one he hoped gained him the respect of the people he left behind.
“How are you feeling, Steve?” Dustin asked quietly as they approached the outskirts of town.
“Could be better.”
“Could be worse,” Max added.
That was their answer to everything.
“Steve, wait!”
Robin was running towards them, nearly tripping and falling on her face every few steps. She had incredible aim when it came to shooting and throwing, but ask her to take more than five consecutive steps without tripping or otherwise hurting herself and you would be shit out of luck.
“What is it?”
“You have to wait. It’s bad. It’s real bad.”
She was out of breath, which was odd since she was in surprisingly good shape for someone who couldn’t run.
Steve looked past her, watching as a small group of people on horseback approached.
She turned to see them, then turned back around and let her head fall.
“Shit. Okay. So your parents are dead. Everyone who was ever in power before? Dead. Hopper? Dead.”
Hearing this should have been more upsetting, but Steve was used to losing people. He was used to losing nearly everyone. And to hear that his parents were gone was more a relief than anything else.
He could hear the people talking in the distance, could feel the ground shaking with the efforts of their horses.
There weren’t many, maybe only six or seven, but enough to keep Steve feeling a bit protective of his group.
They were tired. They’d been through enough.
He didn’t want to fight, but he would if he had to.
“Who are they?”
“Soldiers. Everyone that’s left are soldiers or farmers.”
“Steve Harrington! It’s been a while!”
He knew that voice. Not well, and obviously it’s been five years since he’s heard it, but he knew it.
Who was it?
“Interesting that you choose now to show your face again! We survived the worst of everything without you, I’m not sure why you expect us to welcome you with open arms.”
Eddie Munson.
Steve would know those long, curly locks anywhere.
Steve didn’t recognize anyone else with him, but that was probably for the best.
Eddie got up close to his group, but didn’t pull any weapons.
He didn’t want a fight either. Interesting.
Steve lost his hearing in his left ear nearly three years ago, at the same time he lost most of his left arm. He tried not to let it show as a weakness, especially to people who could be a threat, but he was having trouble hearing over the wind blowing.
“I’m sorry for coming somewhat unannounced. We ran out of supplies to write over a month ago, and money to send a messenger even further back.”
That wasn’t entirely true.
They had money. Not much, but enough to get by. Certainly enough for a messenger if needed. Steve just didn’t want them to know that, not if they were desperate for things like he suspected.
He wanted to help, not give away everything he had.
“If I let you in town, you’ll be dead by morning.”
“Why’s that?”
“Everyone blames you for everything. You left and we had a flash flood the next day that took out half our crops. A week later, half the town fell ill with an unknown plague that killed almost everyone who caught it. The earthquakes took what little we had left and that was before the looting from surrounding towns attacked us for months on end. You were nowhere to be found. Our “golden child” couldn’t bother to come help us. Forgive me for being hesitant to want you around now,” Eddie snarled.
Steve could see the way everyone behind him reacted to Eddie’s words, could feel the worry coming from his own group.
They didn’t deserve this.
“All I ask is you allow my soldiers here back to their families. I’ll be on my way by morning and won’t use any resources. Lucas and Erica lost their parents and will be staying with Dustin.”
Eddie looked them all over, frown on his face.
“Dustin? Henderson?”
“That’s me,” Dustin piped up, always braver than people expected him to be.
“Claudia’s son? She thought you died.”
Steve could hear the emotion in his voice, like he’d had to say that too often, like it was true too often.
“I almost did many times, but I’m here.”
“She’ll be pleased to see you,” Eddie said, though his voice sounded different, a bit more emotion behind the words. “And you?” He turned to Max.
“Only her mom is alive as far as we know,” Steve supplied the bare minimum.
They heard a lot of things, but didn’t know how old the news was by the time it reached them.
“Mayfield?” A man from behind Eddie asked. “I recognize the hair. Your mom’s been workin’ at the pub. Serves beer to the soldiers at the end of their shifts.”
“Sounds like her.”
Max wasn’t all that fond of her mom, never had been, but she still wanted to be reunited with her, even if only temporarily.
Steve had been telling the truth about only staying until everyone in his group had found their home. He knew even before coming that he didn’t want to go back to his own.
“Robin wishes to find work here, settle away from her own home. It’s not safe for her there. She’s a fantastic shot and knows many languages, could be useful as a soldier or a teacher,” Steve hadn’t let Robin know ahead of time that he didn’t plan on staying. She was under the impression before now that they would settle here together, maybe find wives and share a farm. “All I ask is that she gets a fresh start and is not associated with my name.”
“Why do you think you’re in any position to ask for favors?”
“I’m not. I realize that asking for any favors is asking too much. I’m just doing what I can to help the people who have helped me for years.”
Steve watched as Eddie considered, clearly taking into consideration the fact that everyone surrounding Steve had someone waiting for them in town, whether they knew it or not.
“You’ll all come with us. Including you, Steve. But you will stay with me for the night so that no harm comes to you. Many people in this town wish you dead.”
“Including you?”
“To be determined.”
Eddie turned on his horse, and the rest of his group followed.
Steve nudged everyone forward, hoping that by putting them first, he could avoid questions from them.
But that was easier said than done.
“You didn’t say you were only planning to stay one night!” Dustin whisper yelled.
“You were going to leave us?” Erica asked, arms crossed over her chest.
“What if something bad happened when you left?” Lucas added.
Robin was busy helping Max along the rocky path, but she kept sending glares at him over her shoulder.
“I knew I wouldn’t be welcome here. You all deserve to be here with your family and friends. I can find a new place.”
“What about us?”
He ignored the question.
They would be fine, and he would be…well, probably not fine, but alive.
They followed Eddie and his group in silence after that.
When they got closer to the main road, Eddie stopped and hopped off his horse.
“The guys will take the rest of you into town. Steve will need to sneak in. This is not up for discussion and if you don’t agree, you can leave.”
Steve gave everyone a look that said if they tried to argue, he would cut their arms off. He wouldn’t, but the look must have been convincing because no one said a thing.
“You all can come to my house tomorrow to say goodbye to Steve. The guys will tell you where it is. Do not come together and do not bring anything with you. Understood?”
Everyone nodded, giving Steve quick nods before they were led away.
“Hop up,” Eddie said from right in front of him.
When did he get that close?
“I’m sorry?”
“It’ll be less suspicious if you look like a guard. She’ll lead you to my home and I’ll walk a bit behind. If you run for it, we’ll find you.”
“I’m not dressed like a guard.”
“Everyone is off duty sometimes. But you’ll wear my cape to cover your clothes. You look like you lost a few fights.”
“I did.”
Eddie grimaced.
“I think we all have.”
Steve didn’t push, didn’t want to test how far Eddie’s patience and kindness would go.
He hopped up onto Eddie’s horse, settling into the saddle quickly.
Eddie didn’t give him much of a chance to get acquainted with the beautiful horse he was on before he touched her neck and she was off. Eddie laughed at Steve’s shocked face.
He hadn’t ridden a horse since he lived in Hawkins.
It was freeing.
He arrived at Eddie’s cottage much faster than he thought he would, surprised to see that Eddie lived along the outskirts of town, just past the first few rows of trees in the woods. It was solitary but still had easy access to the main road.
And it was cozy.
Steve could tell Eddie liked his quiet time to himself, just from the entrance to the cottage.
A small shelf held his weapons, though probably not all of them, and a table that looked hand carved held letters and drawings.
Steve made his way further inside, trying not to be nosy, but needing to know more about Eddie before he arrived.
The cottage was small, almost entirely all one large room. No couch, only a single rocking chair in the corner and a small stack of pillows next to a bookcase filled with books. The kitchen area was just enough to get by, only a small table and two chairs to sit at.
He walked into the only bedroom of the house, where the only bed was messily made, and clothing was strewn across the floor.
If he intended to keep Steve here all night, was he expecting him to sleep on the floor?
Steve had slept worse places, he supposed.
“Have you gotten all the information you need from snooping or shall I come back later?”
Steve jumped. He hadn’t been snooping, just looking, but Eddie snuck up on his left side and he hadn’t heard a single hint that he arrived.
When he turned, Eddie did look slightly apologetic, but didn’t say so.
“I managed to snag some fresh bread for us to have with the soup I made last night. It’s not very flavorful, but it’ll do,” Eddie said as he took off his boots and threw them into the corner of the bedroom.
“I won’t eat your food. I told you I wouldn’t use any resources,” Steve reminded him.
“You look like you’re one missed meal away from collapsing. You need food. I have food. You’ll eat.”
Eddie walked out of the bedroom and Steve had no choice but to follow.
They ate in silence. Steve didn’t even feel like he should be sitting at the same table as Eddie, but he didn’t have much choice when Eddie set a bowl of soup down and gestured for him to sit.
Steve didn’t know what to make of him.
—--------------------------------
Steve cleaned up, insisted on doing that much to show his appreciation. Eddie decided not to argue, told him he was going to change and wash his face in the bucket of water he had in the bedroom.
Steve waited for him to be done.
“Are you tired?” Eddie yelled from the room.
“A bit.”
That was an understatement.
Steve hadn’t slept more than a couple of hours at a time for five years. His body was constantly exhausted, and now that he was in an actual house, he could feel his body giving up.
Safety usually did that.
But he couldn’t really know for sure that he was safe, couldn’t know that this wasn’t a trap.
“I have something you can change into for bed. It’s not quite clean, but it’s not dirty either. Come change, I’ll get the fireplace going.”
He’d almost forgotten that the night would be much cooler, that without a fire, he would likely have caught a cold or spent the entire night shivering.
Another reason to be grateful for Eddie.
He didn’t want to be in this position though, owing someone. Especially not someone who could ruin his life or those he loved.
He seemed like a higher ranked soldier, like someone most people listened to and liked, and one order from him could end Steve’s life.
Steve was good at defending himself, but he was tired.
He changed, ignored the way Eddie was staring at him as he did so, not wanting to answer any questions about his arm or the scars littering his body.
He was willing to repay Eddie in some way, but not with answers.
“I’ll take this side,” Eddie mumbled as he started moving the blanket on the side of the bed closest to the door.
“Um.”
“The bed’s big enough, just get in.”
Steve watched as Eddie got on his side, moving around until he was comfortable.
“I can sleep on the floor.”
“Steve. Get in the bed before I send you to the stable.”
Steve wouldn’t have really minded that, maybe even preferred that, but he decided to listen to Eddie.
He got in on the other side of the bed, laying on his side facing the wall, taking up as little space as he could.
“Steve, just get comfortable.”
So, he tried. And surprisingly, he found a very comfortable position on his stomach. He used to sleep that way as a child, never having to worry about if someone would sneak up on him in the woods.
He figured the only person who would try to kill him probably already would have tried by now. Maybe he could actually get some sleep.
He sighed into the pillow, drifting off before he heard Eddie turn over and face him.
—-------------------------
Steve woke up slowly, his body warm and not sore for the first time in years.
He’d forgotten what it was like.
And then he started to take inventory of his surroundings.
He was cuddled into Eddie’s side, his face buried against Eddie’s stomach and hand wrapped around his waist. Eddie’s hand was in his hair, not moving, just holding the strands.
Steve was stuck like this.
Surely, Eddie would wake up and push him away and then he would be sent away as planned.
Surely, Eddie didn’t know this happened in their sleep.
He felt Eddie’s legs shift, then his hand.
A groan.
Steve tried to pretend he was shifting away in his sleep. He closed his eyes and started to turn away.
The hand in his hair gripped harder, kept him where he was.
“You ‘wake?” Eddie whispered.
Steve had two options: pretend to be asleep or say he was awake and possibly die.
So he stayed quiet, let his breathing stay slow despite his nerves. He kept his eyes closed in hopes that Eddie wouldn’t think he’d been awake at all.
“Good.” Eddie whispered. The hand in his hair gently carded through his fingers. “Sleep as long as you want. You need it.”
Steve couldn’t cry like this, it would give him away, but the softness of Eddie’s voice, the gentle way he was holding him, it was all too much.
He bit back the tears, and adjusted himself slightly so he could hopefully fall back asleep.
—-------------------------------------------
When he woke up screaming, Eddie was holding him, rocking him back and forth to calm him down.
“It’s okay, you’re safe. You’re okay,” Eddie was saying quietly against the top of his head.
He was shaking, and crying, and had to get away from Eddie. He couldn’t show any more weakness.
He tried pulling away, but Eddie wouldn’t let him go.
“Steve, wait. Calm down first, okay? You’re barely breathing.”
He knew that. But he needed to get out.
“Air.”
“Okay,” Eddie said.
And then Steve was in Eddie’s arms as he got up and walked over to the window.
Steve knew he wasn’t as big as he should be, often only ate what was absolutely required to stay alive. But Eddie lifted him like he was lifting a small bag of food, and put no effort into carrying him across the room.
He adjusted Steve in his arms, until Steve was wrapping his legs around his waist and one of Eddie’s arms supported him. His other arm worked open the window, and he let out a small grunt when it got stuck about halfway.
Steve was too busy crying to worry about anything else that was happening.
Eddie held him next to the window, the cool air slowly filtering through the room and into his lungs, waking him up all the way and helping him focus.
But once he could focus, he realized where he was. He realized what he was doing.
He started to drop his legs down, but Eddie didn’t let him.
“Darling, you need to relax. Take some more deep breaths.”
Darling.
Steve looked at Eddie.
Eddie Munson had called him darling before.
”Steven! Come say goodbye to Wayne!”
Steve made his way downstairs to say goodbye to his family’s personal guard. Once a year, he left for two weeks to visit with his cousins in a town nearly a day’s travel away. The second in command usually covered for him, but this year would be Wayne’s nephew, Eddie’s, first time taking his place.
He was the best of the best, and not just according to Wayne.
And he was only two years older than Steve.
Steve loved Wayne, had considered him to be more of a dad than his own dad most of the time.
He crashed into Wayne, face buried in his chest.
At 16, Steve was too old to act like this, but Wayne didn’t believe that anyone was ever too old to give or get a good hug.
“Alright now, it’s alright. It’s just two weeks, son.”
Steve hadn’t noticed that Eddie was standing to the side, serious face to represent his very serious job.
“I’ll miss you,” Steve said.
“You know I’ll miss ya too. But Eddie will take care of you all just fine.”
Steve looked over at Eddie and then back at Wayne.
“He won’t bring me a cup of mead after my parents go to bed, though.”
Wayne laughed and looked over at Eddie, who was refusing to look at them.
“I’ll be sure to bring you two when I get back.”
And then he was gone.
Steve’s parents left the same day for a trip to visit the farms up north.
Steve was alone in the house except for the help and guards. And Eddie.
He hated being alone.
He woke up from a nightmare that first night, shivering and crying silently.
There was a knock on his door, and he felt like he might still be in the nightmare.
But Eddie peeked around the door and Steve relaxed slightly.
“I brought you mead,” Eddie said as he came into the room holding a mug. He paused when he saw the state Steve was in. “Are you okay? What happened?”
Eddie was next to him in a heartbeat, setting the mug on the table by his bed. His hands were cupping Steve’s face, checking him for injury.
“Just a nightmare,” Steve breathed out, still trying to center himself.
“Darling, you’re barely breathing.”
Steve’s eyes looked up at Eddie’s, searching for something, anything that would tell him why he just called him darling.
“I’m okay,” Steve finally said.
Eddie’s hands were gone, but the concern on his face remained.
“Do you need anything?”
“Could you stay?”
Steve hated asking, he hated being vulnerable with anyone. But he hated being alone more.
“I’ll stay, darling.”
“Why are you being nice to me?” Steve couldn’t help asking.
Eddie hadn’t been unkind before, but he certainly hadn’t made it seem like he wanted to be friendly.
“Because I know you don’t deserve to be treated poorly.”
Steve watched as Eddie contemplated what he was going to say.
“I know about the prophecy. Your parents told me when you left. They sat me and Wayne down, explained how important it was to find you, to keep you here so that our town and the world wouldn’t suffer. I didn’t believe it, but then the flood happened, and everything happened, and we’ve spent years just trying to survive. And the only thing that made sense was that you left and this started.”
“They didn’t tell you the part of the prophecy that I knew, though.”
“I figured it out though. I learned the part they didn’t tell anyone. That if you stayed in Hawkins, Hawkins would be safe, but the rest of the country would burn. But if you left, you had a chance at saving everyone.”
Steve nodded.
“Darling, you’re so good.” Eddie cupped his jaw and smiled sadly at him. “You went out into the world to save it, risked your life to help all of us. It came at a cost, but so does everything.”
Steve was crying again.
“What happened to your arm?”
“I lost it when I lost the hearing in my left ear,” Steve started, but paused when Eddie’s finger started tracing along his left ear. “We were stuck in a town that wasn’t prepared for anything. I could feel an earthquake coming, it’s just the way the ground feels under my feet. I tried to warn everyone, some people listened, but. There was a little girl. She was alone in a shop. I couldn’t leave her there. I misjudged how far off the earthquake was, misjudged how bad it would be. Managed to push her out of a window before the building collapsed. I got stuck under a counter that fell on my head, knocked me out cold, then more beams fell on my arm. By the time Robin and Max got to me, they had to cut it off or leave me there.”
“And the prosthetic?”
“Got it about a year ago. Helped a family escape from a tornado, managed to save most of their possessions even, and one of them was the prototype for this. The man had it built in a week for me. It isn’t perfect, but it does what I need it to do.”
“You can’t hear anything out of your left ear?”
“No.”
“That’s why I scared you earlier.”
“Yes.”
“I’m sorry that you’ve had to do this, darling.”
Steve shrugged.
“No, you should have never had to do this. I don’t know what changed in your mind to make you leave, and I’m glad you were able to help, but it should’ve never fallen on you.”
“I broke up with Nancy. I just had a moment when we were together, I realized she didn’t even know I liked having mead in bed. We were together for nearly a year, planned to marry, and she didn’t even know I liked drinking mead. It sounds stupid, but it just. It reminded me that on the first night you had to protect me, you brought me mead because you overheard me tell Wayne about it.”
Eddie looked at him with something like awe on his face.
“So you left because you broke up with her?”
“Yes and no. I broke up with her because I needed to for a lot of reasons, but I left because she was the only thing keeping me here. I knew I couldn’t ignore what my future was, and ignoring it would only make it worse for everyone outside of Hawkins.”
“But it was a suicide mission.”
“I had help.”
“The children?!”
Steve smirked and patted his cheek.
“Every single one of those children can outwit and outmatch you any day of the week. I guarantee it.”
“Whatever,” Eddie blushed. “So you’ve been out there for five years, basically alone, saving the country?”
Steve nodded.
“I-” Eddie shook his head. “And the nightmares, those are memories?”
“Mostly. Some of them take it a bit too far and go from memories to worst case scenarios.”
“You have them often?”
“Pretty often. Robin usually wakes me before they get too bad.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize what was happening until you were already screaming and crying.”
“It’s okay. Next time.”
“Next time?” Eddie smiled.
“If you’d like. I’m not in a rush to go. I don’t really have anywhere to go.”
“You seemed pretty set on leaving tomorrow.”
“I didn’t exactly feel welcome.”
Eddie kissed his forehead softly, letting his lips linger for a moment before he whispered.
“Do you feel welcome now?”
“I suppose with a cup of mead, I might.”

Can interest you in a potentially controversial Stobin headcanon in what sounds like a trying time?
If so; Steve and Robin share girlfriend at some point.
Not in the “turns out that time we were both dating girls named Crystal? We were in fact dating one girl named Crystal. Who *somehow* never put it together that my Steve and the Steve she was two-timing me with were in fact the person!”
(This does in fact happen - I’m thinking when Robin’s in college and has met like, three different Crystals (one of whom has parents that lived in the same commune as Robin’s! Such a shame girls named Crystal have been *ruined forever*).
It’s a pretty surreal break up for Crystal; not only are her boyfriend and girlfriend turn out to be actually best friends (in her defence, Robin has taken to calling him “Stevie” at this point and the way she talks about him really conjures the image of a standard preppy bitch who’s been Robin’s best friend since kindergarten, and Steve (in retaliation) tends to use “Rob” and “Robbie”, leading Crystal to believe his Robin is male), and seem almost as angry about this as they are about the infidelity.
Crystal’s attempts at explaining herself and apologising result in Steve retorting that he’s not even mad that she’d want to date Robin - Robin’s fucking amazing! If Crystal had just told him that was what he wanted, he probably would have been okay with it - which Crystal takes as Steve being a bitch, but is something Robin will point later as her realising that this is something she might be okay with.)
Anyway, I figure this is something that would happen when they’re in their 20s and/or their 50s. They’re either approached by a woman who thinks they’re a couple (“does it make our marriage more or less of a sham if we’re sharing a mistress?”) or they approach someone they both have a crush on a la Troy & Abed asking out the librarian.
I don’t think either of them would identify as poly, per se - it’s very much “if it’s you, it’s okay”, and if the girlfriend breaks up with one of them, it’s assumed she’s breaking up with both of them.
I just kind of like the combination of Robin and Steve as Platonic Life Partners, trying to figure out polyamory and just how absolutely Buckwild (Robin’s Wrestler name!) it would be for their [potential] girlfriends and anyone on the outside of the situation. Jon and Eddie just sat there, listening to Steve ramble about the situation bc it’s Robin’s date night and just…bluescreening. Argyle smiling and nodding “happy for you, man. I mean, sucks you’re off the market, but glad you’ve found something that works”.
one yes always interested in controversial takes tbh. two. omg yes exactly you are so smart anon
The Crystal situation!! so true this is absolutely something that would happen to stobin (also true I know a few queer women called crystal). bad luck in love that's them!!
I think Steve is like. mostly monogamous...unless his gf/partner is also dating Robin. like it would make sense to him I think. He'd be like well. this way we don't have to worry you things being weird about my Very Normal Friendship With Robin That Some People Thing Is Weird!
I think I've mentioned before the funny scenario of stobin going "hey me and my platonic life partner saw you across the bar and liked your vibes" and I stand by that.
But also funny is that Steve or Robin's girlfriend being absorbed into their dynamic and realizing that she is..... sort of dating both of them? And her being the one to bring up dating the other and Robin and steve going well how would that change things? and everyone realizing that it would probably only change the amount of kisses gf gets and going well that sounds cool let's try it!
Maybe in their 20s it doesn't work out but they try again in their 50s and they go wow! this was a great idea we were just young and it just didn't work out.
that's so fun. I want them to have crazy dating stories. I want Jonathan and Eddie to sit there going what the hell are these two doing? because the complexities of stobin's dating lives have always confused them even before the poly V started, and argyle just vibing listening to the double date night shenanigans he's being told.

Supernaut Chapter 3
Ahhhh! I’m so excited to share this chapter with everyone. Let me know what you think!
Ao3 link
Eddie walks into the gym glancing around at the crowd of students and parents waiting impatiently for the game to begin. He shook his head not fully understanding their excitement but deep down he knew he had no room to judge as in twenty minutes one of the most important sessions of his DnD career would take place.
His excitement for DnD was almost the same, possibly even higher than all of these people’s. Even though he has bitched that basketball was a useless thing it was similar to that of DnD, just another pass time that brought people together. It was just a different group of people who all tended to be assholes to Eddie’s group of people.
Eddie does another scan of the gym, pretending that he is Wayne for a moment. It was a silly thing he did but it brought him entertainment when he was bored or impatiently waiting for something. The latter is the case here, as he couldn’t sit still and wait for the boys to join him in the designated DnD room. That was the only reason why he was peaking in this gym in the first place.
There weren’t any alternative motives here, such as seeing if Steve Harrington was in crowds. Eddie remembered how he was with just being in the cafeteria for lunch. This was an entirely bigger setting.
There were so many people here, and Eddie couldn’t even fathom why so many people would show up to watch a stupid sport. Did Eddie ever mention he was a hypocrite? It was worse than that, he was a self-aware hypocrite.
When Eddie can’t seem to find Steve in the hysteric masses he relaxes. He didn’t care for the guy but Eddie still didn’t want Steve to be left alone in discomfort for something he enjoyed. It was no secret that Steve was an official member of the basketball cult.
That is why Eddie brought a backup plan to help Steve leave if he needed to. He didn’t just come here to see how many people showed up, he did have alternative motives and he doesn’t know how this, in any way, could benefit him. Thankfully though he didn’t have to execute this entire scenario he had created in his head and instead he could relax and check to see what assholes made it to the basketball team this year.
Eddie isn’t shocked to see Tommy Hagen sitting with Billy Hargrove on the home team's bench. He’s always known that guy was some variant of a Leech. Eddie keeps going down the line of boys, remembering the names just in case he or the boys ever had a conflict with one of them. But what shocks Eddie is the last boy on the bench, who purposely sat a few inches away from Jason Carver who was fucking around with another team member instead of paying attention to their coach.
Steve was in every meaning, the ugly duckling of the group. His face was still pretty dinged up, and from the looks of it, he may have gotten himself in another fight. His lip had a newer cut that hadn’t been there the week prior.
Eddie never gets angry. He gets agitated from time to time, which is normally the result of being overstimulated, but he never gets outright pissed. Right now, he was ashamed to admit it, he was pissed off because a stupid jock didn’t listen to him. He shouldn’t be surprised that Steve wouldn’t have listened, he should have expected it. But for some reason, the other boy's stupidity pushed the right button and now here Eddie Munson stands feeling like a fool.
Eddie grinds his teeth together and crosses his arms across his hellfire shirt. He holds himself back from storming across the basketball court to grab Steve Harrington’s ear and pull him off that bench. He knows that's what Wayne would have done to him if he was in Steve’s shoes.
Even though Harrington looked pretty dinged up, he looked better than he had weeks before. He had actual color now and his hands were no longer shaking as bad. With all these observations, Eddie still didn’t think the other should be playing. Medically speaking the other was probably one concussion from being a soggy vegetable.
Eddie has no clue how Harrington convinced the coach to allow him on the bench in the first place. Other boys had been rejected or even kicked off the team for much less.
Daddy’s money, maybe?
Eddie can’t help but go there. That was the only possible way anyone could be kept on the team, and it was no secret the Harringtons funded a decent amount of money for the school.
Eddie shakes his head in disbelief, jaw clenched shut as he turns on his heel. This has no reason to affect him this much. It was just another stupid jock.
As Eddie storms out of the gym, he pushes past a younger boy with curlier hair than his. The kid had a Hawkins high hat on, to support the team Eddie figured, and reeked of hairspray.
“Watch it asshole!” The kid sasses loudly, catching his balance quickly before rolling his eyes and joining the crowd inside the gym.
Eddie would have apologized but he was so pissed off with Steve Harrington, a boy he barely even knew and shouldn’t even care about, to be more aware of how assholey he was being to bystanders.
******
The ticket booth was tiny, and from what Eddie could gather from the few times he’d snuck behind it to hang out with Gareth, it was also very cramped.
A smaller popcorn machine in the corner of the booth was mostly for show, the smell of the fresh popcorn was used to get people to buy some from the snack bar. It was a sneaky capitalist trick but it worked and also meant that Gareth was forced to keep fresh popcorn in it at all times. That benefited Eddie more than it did Gareth.
Eddie leans across the limited counter space with a huge smirk when he catches Gareth sitting on a stool in the back corner, calmly reading an old issue of X-Men. He was probably trying to avoid customer service by hiding, even though his job was to serve the people.
“Gare bear!” Eddie is close to yelling, laughing even louder when he watches his friend jump and nearly tip the stool over.
When Gareth finally regains balance he’s quick to scrunch his nose up and glare at Eddie. It was his signature look.
“Eddie, how many times have I told you. Don’t fucking do that.” He grumbles, standing up and carefully setting the comic down on the counter as he moves to the window that Eddie is half in and half out of.
Summer had just begun and the two had already started a routine. Has Eddie ever mentioned that Gareth loves routine more than he loves DnD? Well, who is Eddie but a people pleaser, if anything he was thinking of his friend by coming to the theater every weekend shift Gareth worked.
When Eddie was bored, or most of the time, sulking about not graduating again he would come to visit his good friend Gareth. Who would normally hold back a ticket or two to every showing just in case.
Well, that was what Gareth told Eddie but they both knew they were the tickets the theater gave Gareth for just working there. Gareth preferred reading alone over being crowded in a theater, this meant his tickets normally went to waste if Eddie didn’t use them.
“So what’s on tonight handsome?” Eddie asks, moving his right hand to prop up his chin. He purposely bats his eyes suggestively, even sending a wink for good measure trying to get a reaction. It works as Gareth flicks his in the forehead when he moves to grab an “extra” ticket.
“Ew, don’t do that,” Gareth whines as he crouches out of view before popping back up with a handful of tickets. He begins to sort through them slowly and says the movie names as he does.
“They have reruns for Rambo, The Goonies, and a couple of other movies you’ve already seen and yesterday we just started showing Back to the Future.” Gareth lists off sounding just as bored as he looked.
While Eddie begins to think about what he wants to watch Gareth adds, “You do know at some point you are going to have to buy your own tickets right?” There’s no venom in his tone as they both knew he wasn’t serious. Eddie’s likely to keep using his tickets until he stops working there.
Eddie dramatically gasps, clutching at his chest as he stumbles back a bit. “Oh, the horror. How shall I live knowing I’ll be just another cog in the capitalist machine once again. I-“
“Ok, shut up, Jesus H. Christ. You’re more paranoid and dramatic than my grandfather when it comes to that shit.” Gareth rolls his eyes. But there was still a tiny smirk on his face.
Before Eddie can conclude what he wants to watch, Gareth throws one of the tickets at him. It floats close to Eddie’s face before it begins to fall, he is quick to move his body awkwardly to catch the paper before it touches the ground.
“Careful with that thing, you could kill someone with a papercut you know?” Eddie jokes as he begins to wag his finger at Gareth like he is a nagging Mother. He even adds a few ‘Tsk Tsks’ for good measure.
“Hurry it up Munson, the movie’s about to start.” Gareth rolled his eyes but still kept a soft smile as he began to sweep up the popcorn from the floor. For a certified “Oscar the grouch”, Eddie sure did see Gareth smiling a lot.
“Oh, almost forgot. Can I have a large bucket of popcorn, and lay it thick with the butter.” Eddie quickly throws himself back on the counter as if someone is trying to steal his spot in line. There wasn’t. He just enjoyed being dramatic.
Gareth huffs as Eddie pretends to trade him cash for the popcorn. He had to keep up the image he was a paying customer after all.
“That's the money I owe you for covering my ass last week.” He hums gently, speaking softer so Gareth doesn’t get in trouble.
Gareth shrugs and pockets the money not too concerned about it before pulling out one of the buckets he snuck over from the snack bar. Scooping out as much as he can into the bucket and soaking it in butter, he than hands it to Eddie who playfully salutes him as a thank you.
Gareth holds back a laugh when he watches Eddie nearly poke his eye out with one of his rings and walk backwards towards the movies acting as if nothing was wrong with his eye.
“You are a saint, my good fellow, god bless you, I don’t know how I shall ever repay you.” Eddie sniffles playfully, talking in a horrendous old-fashioned voice. When he receives the finger for that he is quick to laugh and speed off to theater 17. To watch ‘Back to the Future’, the movie Gareth had decided he should watch when he threw a random ticket at him.
Eddie hums as he holds his popcorn and practically skips down the aisle to find a seat. All of which were packed. Which was expected as the movie was released the day before.
As Eddie walks in the dark he squints his eyes trying to find an empty seat for him to go to. He’s afraid there aren’t any seats left until he finally catches sight of three in the first row. Grinning obnoxiously Eddie is quick to do a celebratory fist pump without dropping his popcorn before he races to the available seats.
When the opportunity ever came up Eddie enjoyed sitting in the middle of three open seats. Why? Well, he enjoyed making new couples uncomfortable by sitting next to him instead of each other. It was a huge dick move but it brought entertainment to Eddie’s movie experience. Though Eddie wasn’t a monster, he always moved to the side in a heartbeat if it was an older couple.
So like any other time, he purposely sits in the middle. One vacant seat on the left to him was right next to one of the theater aisles and then an empty seat to his right that was next to an older man.
The downside of sitting in the front row was being forced to cram your neck backward so you could watch the movie. It was an intentional design flaw so that the theater could fit as many people in the room as possible because more money equals more profit. The only benefit about sitting in the front row was not having your legs cramped behind someone else's chair, and Eddie’s gonna take advantage of that.
He carefully leaned into his seat and stretched his legs out in the aisle as he began to eat his popcorn. He watches the opening credits and is immediately swept into the plot of ‘Back to the Future’. Eddie is so invested in the movie that he doesn’t hear the loud commotion behind him. Not until it was right next to him and about to sit down.
An elbow comes flying from the right of him and almost knocks his popcorn all over his lap and the floor.
“Hey!” Eddie yelps, moving forward fast enough to catch the cardboard from hitting the ground or spilling.
“Shhh!” Nearly every person in their section hisses out including the girl who just sat next to him, and was the reason why Eddie made any noise in the first place.
When Eddie is sure he isn’t going to lose any popcorn he turns his head to the right to glare at the culprit who nearly took his beloved away from him. He raises his eyebrow when he watches the girl begin to giggle mindlessly at the screen, nothing funny is happening yet.
Her body reminds him of a rag doll as she flops back in the chair without a care in the world. Her body was angled closer to him than the gentleman to her right which is probably why she nearly took Eddie’s popcorn out.
After observing her longer, Eddie concludes that this girl is high as a kite. He scrunches his nose and doesn’t question it and turns to return back to watching the movie again, just a little annoyed he missed something.
Before he can be consumed in the movie he hears stumbling coming from the left of him. He can barely pull his eyes from the screen but when he does he nearly watches this random guy, who was also in a sailor fit, fall on his face.
Fuck.
There were now two of them. Did drunk sailors travel in packs or something? This was strange, it wasn’t often you saw anyone in Hawkins visibly fucked up on drugs and from how this other sailor was moving Eddie was pretty confident he was suffering the same “Ocean sickness” his companion was. Eddie tosses a handful of popcorn in his mouth, deciding that whatever is happening right now is more interesting than the movie.
It doesn’t take long for the girl to catch sight of what Eddie assumes is her coworker. He hears her gasp loudly and he is quick to turn his head to see that she is no longer slouching in her chair but is now leaning forward, nearly folded in half to be able to see her co-sailor better.
“Oh my god Stevie!” The girl next to him hisses gently, her mouth full of what seems to be popcorn. Eddie quickly looked down at his bucket and noticed it was now much lower than it had been a moment ago, and the girl's fists were full of popcorn now. If he hadn’t gotten it for free he probably would more annoyed.
The girl jumps out of her seat quickly, dropping the popcorn she’s holding back into Eddie’s bucket, before rushing to Stevie. Her feet stumble over each other as she does and Eddie is even more shocked that she doesn’t fall over herself. She nearly takes her and this Stevie guy down when she finally trips over a loose shoelace and topples forward barely catching her balance on the guy's shoulders. It was as if she was learning to walk for the first time.
Eddie glances around the room only to see that everyone else is focused on watching the movie. It didn’t seem like there was another responsible adult here for the two of them to be on trip duty.
Great, that means Eddie was just promoted.
Eddie squints, trying to see what this mysterious Stevie looks like from the screen light. With no luck Robin, Eddie finally caught sight of her name tag, and Stevie was in front of him. He couldn’t make out Robin’s friend's face but he could see the side of Robin's face and she was squinting at him as if she was trying to make his head explode. It was amusing to watch.
“Hey, I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be an ass but do you mind moving over a seat?” Robin asks in a hushed whisper, her voice shaking slightly as she strains to hold her friend up. Eddie feels bad for her.
“I like, might throw up if I don’t find a way to surgically connect myself to Stevie so I don’t lose him again. He’s like a lost pathetic puppy, dude.” Robin rambles out, the dude part targeted specifically at Stevie when he nearly topples backward to avoid a bug from flying in his face. He quickly straightens himself out and shifts more of his weight onto Robin when he moves closer to her to speak in a hushed whisper. Eddie has yet to see his face.
“Robbie, it's okay. I can sit on the edge of the aisle.” The man’s voice sounds hoarse like he’s exhausted and in pain and from the way he was leaning on Robin, Eddie was starting to believe he was injured.
Robin turns her head, no longer glaring at Eddie but instead at Stevie. Eddie couldn’t make out her face anymore but from how fidgety Stevie became he's sure she had a scary look on her face. Without Robin even saying a word Stevie begins to stumble over himself.
“Or… or you can sit in my lap?” The poor guy squeaks out.
That was also the wrong answer for Robin.
“I can sit in yours?” The guy sounds confused and Eddie can’t help but let out a soft snort at how ridiculous he sounded. Robin doesn’t stop glaring at him.
“I- uh. I’m running out of options here Rob? Uh- um - I’ll sit in his lap so he doesn’t have to move and I can still sit next to you!” The guy says excitedly as if he just found the cure to some rare disease. This guy must be on some heavy fucking shit if he was willing to sit in another man's lap in public.
Eddie’s face grows hot as he quickly moves to stand, no longer willing to do what he normally does to couples. Before he is fully stood he watches in real-time as the two dumbasses in front of him decide that the only solution to their problem is having Stevie sit in his lap.
“Yeah, that should work!” Robin whispers back excitedly.
“Wait, hold on.” Eddie jumps up before they can execute their plan. He didn’t want to be hatecrimed today thank you very much, and if he let this plan be executed he thinks the older man who was now watching them to their right would be first in line to do so.
“I’ll just move, Jesus Christ.” He grumbles. Moving to sit on the edge of the aisle, if he was being forced to move he didn’t want to be between two people.
The two geniuses giggle to themselves before Robin sits back in her spot and Stevie takes Eddie. From where Eddie was sitting now, he could now make out the side of the guy's face, and holy fucking shit.
With how bad his face looks, Eddie can barely recognize Steve Harrington sitting next to him. There is active blood oozing down the guy's face and here he was sitting next to Eddie in a movie theater acting as if nothing was wrong. He should be getting medical help, not just sitting here watching Back to the Future stoned off his ass. This only convinced Eddie more that this guy was dumber than he let on.
Eddie can’t help himself, even though he had told himself that he was never going to help a jock again, he leans in close to Steve. Steve barely even notices, but Eddie can feel his face heating up from his breath bouncing off the other's skin.
“Hey, Harrington. You sure you should be here and not at like… the hospital or something?” Eddie asks. He tilts his head to the side and a few inches closer to the other so that the other can hear his whispering. He remembers that the other did have some hearing problems.
Steve takes a moment to react, turning his head in a daze and looking down at Eddie with the glossiest eyes he’s ever seen.
“Jesus man, what the fuck did you take. Your pupils are bigger than the moon man.” Eddie no longer thinks Steve and Robin used weed to get this fucked up.
Steve pinches his eyebrows together confused, as if Eddie’s words were hitting him at a two-minute delay. After a moment his face changes to recognition when he realizes who he is talking to. His eyes light up a bit and he’s smiling just as dopey as he looks.
“Hey! I barely recognized you, Munson,” Steve isn’t aware of the volume as he speaks, he just begins to talk a bit too loud as Eddie catches Robin eating his popcorn again. But he didn’t stop her, he was too focused on the man next to him.
“How are you?” Steve asks in a tone that doesn’t sound like it should be coming from King Steve. It was way too nice.
Eddie snorts at the other, “Could be better, I kind of wish I was on whatever you are on right now. Shocked you can even see man” Eddie laughs gently. Not moving from how close he was to the other.
“Though, seriously dude? Thought I told you to be careful of your head.” He feels like a mother hen scolding the other but he can’t help it. He felt like he was looking after one of his lost sheep instead of an asshole jock.
“No, you don't.” Steve’s face grows serious. The goofy tone that was once there between the two of them shifts into something more serious. Eddie can’t help but feel slightly uncomfortable with how fast the tone shifts.
“It's god awful dude, I can’t keep any thoughts of mine to myself, the lights hurt my head, I feel like I’m going to throw up, my chest feels weird and I can’t stop laughing at everything even though everything hurts.” Steve rambles out. “And there is like, a shit ton of Russian soldiers after me and Robin right now.”
Eddie furrows his eyebrows growing even more concerned. Now Eddie was no expert but from experience, he was pretty sure the other was having a bad trip while Robin was having the time of her life with his popcorn. Unless she was also putting a facade up.
“And, I was,” Steve whines out gently. “I did everything you told me to, took meds, slept a lot, cleaned my face every night, and avoided hitting my head the best I could.” The guy looks like he is close to tears as he talks. His chest was starting to heave up and down and Eddie is slowly growing more concerned that he was going to have to drag this huge ass jock out of the movie theater. He needed to defuse this boy before he exploded.
“Hey, big boy. It's alright, I was just teasing you.” Eddie whispers trying to comfort him but also holds back a remark about how the other also didn’t listen to him by playing basketball last season. But he’s pretty sure that would only make the entire situation worse.
Steve still looks out of it as he glances around a bit, wincing when he looks at the TV screen. He’s about to say something else but before they can Robin is hopping up and dropping the popcorn all over the floor. Her hand is over her mouth and she looks seconds away from throwing up.
“Too much butter, gonna throw up.” She mumbles into her hand. Even though Eddie is the sober one Steve is quicker to react. He’s already standing up with an arm gently wrapped around Robin's waist and leading her out of the theater.
This leads Eddie to a moral dilemma. Does he stay here and mind his own business? Or does he chase after the two dumbasses and help them through their trip?
After a moment the knight in shining army side of him wins and he’s quick to run out as well. When he makes it out of the theater exit he finds the two sailors almost immediately. They were hard to miss in their obnoxiously blue uniforms.
It doesn’t take long for Eddie to catch up to them. When he is in reaching distance he gently lays his arm around Robin as well, in hopes of helping Steve carry her weight to the bathroom. Looking over Robin’s shoulder Eddie catches Steve mouthing out a soft thank you before they both begin to pay attention to where they are going, the girl's bathroom only fifteen feet away from them. When they get closer it doesn’t take long for Robin to quickly sprint into the bathroom and for loud puking noises to follow behind her.
Eddie scrunches his nose up, hating the sound of vomit. He then takes the moment to turn and take a better look at Steve, who somehow looks a lot worse than he had months before. He was slightly pale and he was doing that thing again where he stares a hole into his feet. When Steve begins to sway a bit Eddie is quick to wrap an arm around his waist and lead him to the bench that was just right outside the bathroom.
“Hey, you alright sailor? You look like shit,” Eddie comments.
Steve snorts, about to say something else but once again Robin is interrupting him. “Stevie!” Robins's voice cracks as she yells, and she sounds like she is close to hyperventilating.
Steve doesn’t even waste a second, he is quick to stand at the entrance of the bathroom before Eddie can even blink.
“Yeah Robbie?” his tone is much different compared to how he talks to Eddie. Eddie isn’t sure he has ever heard King Steve talk like that to anyone before, and for a second he wonders if the two were dating.
“Need you,” Robin whines out.
“I can’t come in Robby, it’s the girl's bathroom.”
“So, it's not like you don’t use enough Farrah faucet to not have some form of girl pass.” Robin sniffles out.
Steve’s face goes red as he groans, “Hey, that was supposed to be a secret Rob.” But he doesn’t sound upset, if anything he sounds amused. That seemed out of character for Steve. This whole happy look on him didn’t look right. Where was the pathetic little Sheep Eddie had met months earlier?
Eddie holds back a soft laugh before Steve turns sending a playful salute. “I’ll be back.” He says in the worst impersonation of the Terminator Eddie has ever heard. Steve walks into the bathroom for maybe a second before he is poking his head out again.
“If you even think about releasing the information you just heard I will... I don’t know but I will do something.” Steve glares, obviously joking. Eddie can’t help but think what a dork.
The longer Eddie was near the king the worse his whiplash was becoming. One second the guy was acting like he was going to throw up and pass out and the next it was like he was completely fine and taking care of Robin.
Eddie stays outside the bathroom, figuring that it would be a little too odd for two men to be helping a woman out in the girl's bathroom. Instead, he could be out here and warning people from going in. Telling them that his friend was sick and they might catch it if they went in.
He stays on the bench and waits. Lost in his thoughts, once again planning a scene for his next campaign. When he hears a voice over the speaker saying the mall was closing early he realizes that the two toddlers have been in the bathroom for nearly thirty minutes now and there is no longer any noise coming from the bathroom. That was odd, but Eddie was starting to think there was nothing normal about the Scoop troop.
“Hey, you guys alright?” He yells from where he sits, figuring they could probably hear him from inside.
Crickets.
“Hey, Steve?” Eddie was slowly beginning to panic. What if they OD’d in there? “Robin?”
Silence.
Eddie finally stands up to just peek in the bathroom when a woman steps out of the door nearly hitting him in the face with the door. A panicked look comes across her face and he jumps back quickly before she can come up with any sick conclusions.
“Sorry, I uh... Was there anyone in there? My friend was helping his sick girlfriend out.” Eddie rambles out nervously. “And I’ve been waiting out here for nearly an hour.”
The woman pinches her eyebrows like she didn’t believe him and moves back into the bathroom before returning outside again. “Nope. No one is in there. They probably went out the other entrance.” the woman says before pushing past Eddie awkwardly.
And fuck. Eddie just lost two drugged-up toddlers in the middle of the mall, which was about to close any minute now.
He begins to race down the hallways, this probably would be the only time anyone would catch him running ever. He quickly turns a corner and nearly tackles a security guard who happened to be coming that way anyway.
“Fuck!” Eddie curses out before he begins to quickly apologize.
“Sir the mall is closing,” The guard had a strong Russian accent and Eddie was quick to wonder if this was who Steve was talking about earlier.
“I know, I know. But I can’t find my friends and…” Eddie rambles out.
“You're  the only one left in the building, they probably ditched you now leave before I kick you out myself.”  No wonder Steve had been scared, Eddie was close to pissing himself just from this interaction alone.
“Oh, ok. Yeah, uh thanks? If you find a man and a woman still running around can you let them know to call Eddie?” he asks as he starts to walk towards the exit, the guard not leaving him much room to go on a detour.
“yeah, yeah, yeah, now get going.” The guy speaks monotony before shutting the door behind Eddie when he finally leaves.
Eddie shakes his head worried before he goes to his van and heads home. That was the last time he saw the mall fully standing before it burnt down an hour later.

Eddie found a way to piss off Steve’s dad.
A/N: this is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea so if you dint like it please leave! You have been warned :)
-
After announcing that they were in a relationship, Steve and Eddie made it their duty to spend the entire summer together. That also meant Eddie had to spend his time with Steve’s family and the day would drag on for too long. He tried to be as present as possible to make a good impression but Steve’s father pushed his buttons every chance gets. Ever since he met the man he’s been disrespectful and made sure that Eddie heard all the slick comments that he could think of. Eddie thought it was because he couldn’t accept the fact that Steve liked men or he wasn’t as clean cut like everyone else in the small town. Steve informed him that it was because he smoked which Eddie took as a cover up for something else, none of it was adding up. Gradually Eddie stopped trying to be on his best behavior and spat back at Steve’s dad which always caught him off guard.
Steve scolded him about it several times and told him that he shouldn’t disrespect his father. Which Eddie had no problem with until one night when he slept over at Steve’s house he overheard an argument downstairs. Steve’s dad went on about how Eddie brought out the worst in Steve and he was the one who filled Steve’s head with homosexual tendencies. Hearing those words come out of his mouth pissed Eddie off that entire night and Steve didn’t know that he heard their conversation. Eddie’s dislike towards the older man grew every single day whenever he saw him around the house, Steve’s games, family video basically anywhere that involved Steve. He even showed at Eddie’s trailer once knowing that his company was very unwanted but that didn’t stop him because being the asshole he is, he wanted Eddie to know that he would never approve or respect anything that he did.
The thing that most people tend to forget is that Eddie rarely bites his tongue and he’ll never let anyone feel like they can treat him like shit. So when Steve’s dad least expected it Eddie was going to get him back in the most twisted and malicious way that he wouldn’t see it coming. The opportunity presented itself when Steve invited Eddie over and he emphasized that they would be by themselves. Eddie arrived at Steve’s place with all kinds of thoughts running through head as he came up with different scenarios that would make Steve’s dad blood boil. His thoughts were interrupted by the front door opening and Steve greeted him with a bright smile. Eddie let out a small gasp when Steve pulled him inside the house and started to kiss him. They made out near the door while their hands roamed over each other’s bodies.
“That’s an interesting way of saying hello.” Eddie joked after he pulled away from Steve. He wrapped his arms around Steve’s waist and pulled him close enough so their foreheads could touch.
“I really wanted to see you and since we’re alone I thought we could,” Steve trailed off mid sentence while sliding his finger down Eddie’s clothed chest and bit his lip when he met Eddie’s gaze. “Have some fun.”
“Oh really?” Eddie asked as he raised a brow. Steve usually gave subtle hints when he was in the mood to have sex but today was very different. He looked at Eddie hungrily and eagerness could be seen all over his face.
“Mhm.” Steve hummed while pulling Eddie back into another kiss. This time Steve made it tougher than before and Eddie followed his lead. Eddie licked Steve’s bottoms lip for permission then slipped his tongue inside of his mouth earning a tiny whimper from Steve as his tongue licked deeply inside of his mouth. He pulled away leaving a string of spit that connected to both of their mouths and broke because of the distance they created.
“We should take this upstairs.” Eddie said lowly into Steve’s ear. Steve didn’t even hesitate to grab Eddie’s wrist and drag him upstairs. He was guiding him towards Steve’s bedroom like they always did but Eddie had something else in mind when he saw that Steve’s parents bedroom door was wide open. Eddie stopped in his tracks making Steve stop as well. “You’re parents are at work, right?”
“Yeah why?” Steve asked confused by what his boyfriend was up to. Eddie smirked as he pulled Steve into the empty room and started to kiss him. Steve felt his back lay against his parents mattress as Eddie pushed them closer to the bed while they kissed. They adjusted themselves on the bed and Eddie got in between Steve’s legs then leaned down to kiss him softly along his jaw. Steve let out small moans as Eddie continued to kiss further down and his hands slipped underneath Steve’s shirt to remove it. With a soft push against Eddie’s chest Steve shook his head quickly. “Eddie not here… it’s disrespectful to my parents.”
“Come on baby you know I would never disrespect them. I just thought it would be kind of fun, you know? You could be mom and I could be dad.” Eddie spoke softly. As much as he hated the man who laid his head here if Steve thought it was disrespectful then he wouldn’t push it. Before Eddie could move he was already being pulled by his shirt and met with Steve’s lips that were so desperate every time they kissed.
“I want you to be my daddy.” Steve breathed in between kisses and that’s when Eddie completely lost it. He pushed Steve onto his back then took off his shirt swiftly. Eddie threw his shirt somewhere on the floor hoping that it left a mess wherever it was. He leaned up to unbutton Steve’s pants and as he did the feeling of his erection was under Eddie’s hands. Eddie palmed the area making Steve buck his hips then another moan followed after. “Please… Eddie, I want you so badly.”
“I know baby but you have to be a good boy for me. From now on when you ask for something you’ll refer to me as what?” Eddie asked as he stopped moving completely. Steve whined at the loss of friction that Eddie gave him temporarily. He looked up at Eddie with soft eyes and blush creeping onto his face.
“Daddy.”
“There’s my good boy. Being such a good listener just for me, I’m so proud of you.” Eddie said before giving Steve a very much needed kiss for being good like always. He went back to taking care of Steve’s pants and finally took them off along with his. Both of them were hard in their boxers feeling the material press against their throbbing cocks. Eddie could see a wet patch on Steve’s boxers since they were light colored and he place his finger over the spot teasingly. Steve cried as he felt his tip leak with precum because of Eddie rubbing his finger over the sensitive area.
“Please.” Steve begged pathetically. His cock twitched just from a little bit of Eddie’s touch and he craved it for so long. Eddie wanted Steve to get comfortable with calling him daddy not only because it sounded extremely hot coming from him but it also added a few points to his score board against Steve’s dad. He wondered what would happen if he saw Steve laid out on his bed like this and Eddie had his way with him without anybody stopping him. Eddie thought this would be the perfect moment to get back at the man, little did he know that he spoke a little too soon.
“Please what?” Eddie said sternly. Steve visibly shivered at the sound of Eddie’s voice deepening and the way he showed his dominance over him. Eddie knew that he would get a reaction out of Steve because he loved being underneath his control.
“Please daddy fuck me.” Steve covered his face as the words came out of his mouth. It was truly embarrassing how turned in he was by the name calling and Eddie couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear. Eddie felt like he was unstoppable at the moment and he enjoyed every second of it. Steve gave in easily letting the name escape his lips as if Eddie was the only person he knew that went by it. In the back of his mind he thought it was pretty weird since Eddie never requested to be called that but he wasn’t complaining in the slightest.
“Your wish is my command.” Eddie took his hands pulled down Steve’s boxers revealing his stiffened cock that was underneath. Steve whimpered as the cool air of the room hit his tip that still had precum coming out of the slit. Eddie rubbed his thumb over the head letting the sticky substance coat the surface of his thumb and Steve tried not to cum from only Eddie’s hands. “God, you’re so fucking wet. Are you that eager for me baby?”
“Y-yes I want you to fuck me until I can’t feel anything. Daddy… please.” Steve cried out helplessly all he wanted was to feel Eddie deep inside of him and take every inch of him even if he was too big it didn’t matter to Steve. Eddie couldn’t take seeing Steve vulnerable and giving himself to him like nothing else in the world was important. An idea popped into his head as he looked down at a desperate Steve waiting for him to make his next move.
“Get on all fours.” Eddie demanded. Steve didn’t waste anytime to get onto his hands and knees making himself exposed to Eddie. His hole wasn’t tight like Eddie thought it would be meaning Steve already did half the preparing himself. Without any warning Eddie slapped Steve’s ass cheek earning a sharp high pitched cry and he buried his face into the sheets. “Stretching yourself without me? I thought you were a good boy.”
“I p-promise I am. I just wanted to save you the trouble.” Steve rambled but the didn’t stop Eddie from pulling his back and slapping Steve again. Eddie left a big red mark on Steve’s skin and the stinging sensation that came with it made it impossible for Steve to keep his cries to a minimum. Light sobs started to come from the boy that tried to muffle his sounds into the sheets. Eddie pulled Steve towards him softly making him look in his direction and placed a gentle kiss on Steve’s tear stained cheek.
“It’s okay baby I’m not going to hit again but I had to punish you for doing things without me. Do you understand me?” Eddie asked softly. Steve nodded his head and Eddie pulled him into a kiss before getting back to their original position. Even though Steve was already stretched Eddie took it upon himself to stick his fingers inside of Steve’s hole. Eddie curled the two digits that pressed up against the soft spot that was inside of Steve. A loud moan filled the room as Eddie began to move his fingers in and out of his entrance, with every thrust of of Eddie’s fingers Steve clenched around them desperately wanting to get filled up by them. Steve pushed himself backwards and was met with an intense pain that came from Eddie’s fingers hitting the sensitive area.
“Daddy ah-“ Steve’s mind went blank when Eddie thrusted his fingers deeper inside making Steve whine as the pain turned into pleasure over and over again. Eddie made sure to push Steve limits every time they got to this point and the result would always be Steve being a complete wreck but loving how dirty they can get. With one last thrust of his fingers Eddie pulled out his fingers leaving Steve empty and clenching around nothing. Eddie aligned himself with Steve’s entrance and before he started to enter the faint sound of a car made him look out the window. Luckily the bed was close enough for him to see clearly outside. Eddie saw Steve’s dad car in the driveway and he stepped out of it angrily as if he had a bad day. He figured that Steve’s timing was a little off about how long his parents were going to be at work but Eddie didn’t mind because this worked perfectly in his favor.
“Since you’ve been such a good boy for me, I want you to be as loud as you possibly can. I want to hear those beautiful noises come from you. Do you think you can do that for me baby?” Eddie let a mischievous smirk onto his face when he saw Steve nod his head. He aligned himself with Steve’s entrance and slowly started push past the tight muscles. Eddie loved every moan that came from Steve being that he was loud enough for anyone to hear. He started to create a rhythm with his thrusts letting his cock disappear inside of Steve then roughly pulling it out with precum getting on the base. The sound of skin slapping filled the room and it only got louder within seconds as both of them lost themselves completely.
“H-harder Eddie, fuck.” Steve said in between moans and he gripped onto the bed sheets as Eddie slammed harder into his entrance shamelessly. Steve cried out when Eddie pushed him further down onto the bed forcing his back to arch. That made it easier for Eddie to continue to hit the same spot without a single stop. Steve felt his legs shake from trying to keep himself up and the way Eddie fucked him harder than ever it became all too much. Eddie held Steve in place when he started to become weak from the fast pace that he was going and that made him bury his face back into the sheets. While Steve was so far gone he didn’t notice that they had an audience and Eddie was glad that they did.
Standing at a good distance but visible through the doorway was Steve’s dad watching the scene in front of with utter disgust and anger. Eddie made eye contact with him every time he thrusted into Steve. He knew that he was beyond pissed and Eddie thought he might not make it out of this alive but it damn sure felt good to see the look on that bastards face as he saw his son getting destroyed by his boyfriend that he hated. Eddie didn’t want this victory to end and coincidentally Steve helped him out with that without realizing it.
“I need you to go harder… please.” Steve begged. Eddie pulled Steve by his hair earning a cry from him and he made Steve get on his knees. Pushing him down roughly onto his cock as both of them were now up right on the bed. Smoothly Eddie covered Steve’s eyes and licked the side of his neck then biting it in the process. Eddie looked directly at Steve’s dad who was completely frozen in one spot anxiously trying to decide if he should run or continue to watch even though it was pretty odd.
“What was that?” Eddie asked with playfulness in his tone. He thrusted upwards into Steve and he could barely keep himself up as his muscles tightened around Eddie. He laid on Eddie’s chest trying to catch his breath from what they were doing previously. Eddie pulled on Steve’s hair to remind him what he asked and breathlessly Steve responded.
“Fuck me harder daddy.” Steve mumbled and earned another hard tug from Eddie.
“I can’t hear you.”
“Fuck me harder daddy!” Steve screamed those words and he definitely didn’t hold back. Eddie watched as Steve’s dad eyes widen at what just heard the look of fear on his face made Eddie’s heart jump with joy. He kissed the side of Steve’s cheek and smiled against his skin.
“Good boy.” Eddie whispered. Steve was released from Eddie’s grasp and fell forward onto the bed. His body couldn’t keep with the Eddie’s movements as they became slightly rougher. Eddie continued to thrust into Steve feeling his body build up with deep inside him that needed to be released. He looked away from Steve to se that no one was standing in the doorway anymore and Eddie knew that he had officially won. Focusing on the task at hand Eddie went on to thrust a few more times before Steve came on the sheets and Eddie came inside of Steve, some of it dripped down Steve’s trembling legs that immediately gave out when Eddie pulled out of his entrance. He laid there trying to steady his breathing and ignore the soreness he felt throughout his body. Eddie kissed Steve’s backside then kissed his shoulders and placed a sweet kiss onto his lips that could barely open from him being exhausted. “I’m going to get you some water, okay?”
After Eddie heard Steve hum in response he quickly put on his boxers and ran downstairs. His heart was pounding from the adrenaline that he felt and he made his way towards the kitchen. Steve’s dad stood in the kitchen facing the opposite way with his hands over his face and he was mumbling things under his breath. Eddie didn’t try to hide his presence in fact he wanted Steve’s dad to him that’s why got a glass from the cabinet and loudly placed it on the counter. The older man turned around with a scared look on his face at first but then it turned it to anger. He stormed over to Eddie and got in his face very vein popping out of his head. Eddie held back a laugh as the man tried to talk to him but he couldn’t even look Eddie in the eye. The man stopped himself completely and walked away from where Eddie was standing.
“Did you enjoy the show Mr. Harrington?” Eddie asked slyly. He was playing a very dangerous game and he knew the consequences behind it but he couldn’t control himself. Steve’s dad turned around in disbelief.
“You’re a sick individual. Having my son participate in those sinful acts and doing it with eyes on you makes it even worse.” He spat at Eddie.
“Correction sir, your son asked me to participate in those ‘sinful’ acts first-“
“I don’t believe anything that comes out of your disgusting mouth. My son would never suggest to do something that sinister and once he realizes that you’re leading him down the wrong path I’ll be right here to guide him back home.” Steve’s dad was convinced that Eddie was the actual devil on earth and anything Steve did was never his decision.
“It’s about time you stepped to be a good dad for once.” Eddie was met with strong hands around his neck and a glare that could kill him. Steve’s dad tightened his grip making Eddie struggle to breath as he tried to get his hands from around his neck.
“Watch your mouth boy. I’ve been nothing but a good dad to him and I won’t let some punk like you tell me otherwise.” Steve’s dad said through gritted teeth. Eddie let out a bitter laugh.
“It seems like I took the spot in that department don’t it, Mr. Harrington?” Eddie smirked when Steve’s dad realized what he meant and he loosened his grip on Eddie’s neck. With a shocked expressing he stood in the kitchen running his hands through his thinning hair. Eddie took the glass that was on the counter and turned on the sink filling the cup up to a good amount. Before Eddie left the kitchen he turned to face Steve’s dad. “Now if you don’t mind I’m going to tend to my ‘fatherly’ duties.”
Eddie didn’t see his reaction but the faint gasp that heard as he started walking up stairs was enough for him to be satisfied.

hey if your asks are open i had an idea for a blurb or something where like it’s jus a lazy day and steve and reader are playing cards, like slap jack and it’s all fluffy cuz steve’s joking around and making fun of reader for losing. BUT THEN he’s jus like if you win i give you head and vice versa and reader gets more competitive. so yea jus smt in my mind if you wanna write it plz and thanks. :)
HAHAHA yes i love this. no smut but maybe a p2 if anyone wants one.
its a soft and lazy saturday evening and you’re sat in steves living room. you have been sleeping there for four or five days now and it feels domestic bliss. non stop cuddling and talking and sex and he just wants to put a ring on your finger now. but instead you were playing cards. at first he had brought them out because he was telling you how he used to teach himself card tricks when his parents left for business and he was bored out of his mind. he was giggling through the whole thing and when he finally said “is this your card” in a weird magician voice and it was in fact not your card you couldn’t help but laugh so hard that you were both out of breath. but now you were just playing card games. steve was PILING up cards on his side and you were giggling at how bad you were. and you were content to do that until he made a comment that changed your perspective.
“would it be too late to say that the winner gets head?” and although he was mostly joking you immediately reply with “no”
because look. you could turn this around! and honestly, if you cant, who in their right mind would turn down giving steve harrington head??
but his face lights up and hes like “OH you’re SO losing right now.”
but miraculously (definitely not on purpose) steve starts losing more and more cards. because the best case scenario for him would be to watch you get all excited because youre winning, and then be able to make you cum after. he adores how your face lights up as you look at him triumphantly as you gradually start to win. and how could he spoil your fun?
when he finally has next to no cards left, and you are the established winner, he mirrors your soft giggles as he pulls you onto his lap. but, afraid your victory may have thrown off his plans, you remind him that he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do. to which he smiles and whispers into your ear.
“you really think you could’ve won without my help?”

I love love your Steve Nomad series! Would you ever do a request where the reader gets pregnant somehow? 😊😊
Oooh.... interesting question...
First, I love your prof pic! Say hi to your cat and give them some head scritches from me! 😍
Now, as to Exiled Nomad Steve and his reader... That's complicated. Circumstantially, they're a series of hook ups. Even as they see each other more and more, they both know that. Steve is in no place for permanence, and so they certainly wouldn't plan that.
Tumblr media
And while unplanned pregnancies can happen, reader has an IUD, and that's one of the most effective forms of birth control. Reader would have to make an appointment with a medical professional in order to have the IUD removed, and she wouldn't do that. She had the IUD when she and Steve first me, so her resolve to be in that particular kind of state in relation to her reproductive organs extends beyond anything going on with Steve. On one hand, she may be utilizing the IUD to help control some very bad and painful menstrual cycles. On another, she may not want to worry about birth control so much and be free to have unprotected sex with partners she feels comfortable with. On another, she may be keeping that safety measure until she's in a place where she's one thousand percent ready to say yes to having a child (whether that's with a partner or as a single parent). And on yet another hand (yes, four hands, hahaha), the reader may have decided she doesn't want children at all, but didn't want to have more serious procedures and/or irreversible procedures - IUDs are a reversible form of birth control.
But, that's not to say NEVER.
Reader could very well get pregnant one day. That may or may not be with Steve - we don't know if they're going to get together. It might be interesting if Reader decided she wanted to have a child on her own - and maybe that would be with Steve, with someone else she trusted, or with an anonymous sperm donor. If that were the case - with any of those scenarios - it might be interesting to see how Steve would respond to that.
BUT THAT'S ALL VERY WHAT IF!
BASICALLY I WILL NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY ANY POSSIBILITIES AT THIS TIME! 🤣 AND THE POSSIBILITIES? THEY ARE ENDLESS! AND I'M A TROLL!

Yes, I used Lilo and Stitch to quote the family that Bucky makes in this fanfic. Honestly, I think it just fits them so well.
There is a taglist, just respond if you'd like to be added! These are headcannons and scenarios revolving around Bucky and Human! Alpine. I'll be used she/her pronouns for the character and there will be a vague description of her in some scenarios.
Enjoy the series!

How Bucky Met Alpine
It all started when Steve went back to Peggy. Steve was Bucky's family and now he was on his own.
He and Sam worked together sure, but that didn't mean there wasn't any tension there.
They definitely weren't on the level of living together, so Bucky found a place in Brooklyn after he got is pardon.
Quiet, the landlord didn't ask a lot of questions, cheap. It was perfect.
Almost perfect.
There was one neighbour that seemed to annoy him, though they'd never really talked before hand.
They lived opposite each other, so it was a surprise they hadn't seen each other before when Bucky was viewing the place
He'd seen a glimpse of her on moving day, lugging boxes onto his floor and dumping them inside the open door of the apartment.
On his second, maybe third run up from Sam's car - not that there was actually that much to move in - the lift had been occupied so instead he went up the stairs.
He was a super soldier, it's not like it would tire him out too bad.
Walking through he door, he caught a glimpse of his neighbour.
A young woman, maybe 21? 22? Long hair, wearing an all white outfit
In New York? That was brave.
She kicked the door closed behind her before he got a better look at her but he didn't care, he was more annoyed at the fact he had a young neighbour.
he didn't know if he'd be able to handle loud music and parties every night
he was stereotyping of course he knew that but he couldn't help it
a young girl living on her own with absolutely no parental watch, you just know there's going to be some sort of rebellious action
little did he know, his neighbour was a social recluse
and very
VERY
nosey
so nosey in fact that whenever she hears Bucky's door go, she's up and looking through her peephole wondering what the fuck is going on
she's bored and this is her only form of entertainment because how does this man function
she never sees a lot of groceries, never sees any takeout's delivered to his place, and only ever sees him with his friend or with Yori
and yes, of course she knows Yori
they gossip together on the weekends when they do their laundry at the local laundromat
but she knew who he was, knew who James Barnes used to be, what he used to do, who he lost
she knew he was on his own
like her
so, why couldn't they be on their own together?
she had watched him adapt his life from war to peace, and felt bad that he had no one to talk to about it
yeah she was a kid but she wanted to help her neighbour
she just couldn't figure out how to interact with him
not like she could just knock on his door and say "hey you have trauma and I have trauma lets bond over trauma together"
that would just be way too mentions of trauma
she could say "hey I've been watching you for a couple of weeks and you seem just as depressed as me lets be best friends"
but that would more than likely end up with a door slammed in her face and a restraining order
luck was on her side when one day, her pizza was delivered to the wrong address
she'd been waiting for an hour, normally she wouldn't have even gotten it delivered, she would have gone out to get it herself but the poor baby has a cold
fuck going out
she heard the knocking on the door and couldn't help but get to her feet and look out the peephole at the two people in the hallway
she may be on deaths door but she'll be damned if she doesn't know what on earth is happening right outside her door
"Yeah this ain't mine"
"bro c'mon just pay for the pizza, my boss will kill me if I get this delivery wrong"
"it's not mine, i'm not paying for it."
opening the door she grins because finally
her pizza is here
and she can interact with the Bucky Barnes
"it's mine"
she tried to seem cool
really she did but there's only so much you can do when your face is all red, snot dripping down her nose and her hair in a greasy messed up bun at the top of her head
the pair looked at her and she handed the delivery boy the money, sniffing hard as he left
"...."
"...."
neither of them had closed their door, neither of them had spoken
somehow they had gotten into a staring competition
it's really no wonder because we know Bucky loves those
but Alpine was STUGGLING
"Why are you staring"
"...."
"Dude seriously"
"...."
"Okay you're making me sweat, can you stop?"
she starts panicking and opens her pizza box to stuff her face, not taking her eyes of him
"See what you're making me do? Stress eat. this is all you, i can't stop staring- will you just blink?!"
she felt like she was in an interrogation
like all her deepest darkest secrets would come out
and some of them did
"OH MY GOD FINE I STOLE THE COUPONS FROM MRS GALWAY'S MAILBOX BUT SHE DOESNT EVEN EAT SHREDDIES SO IT DOESNT MATTER"
what
the fuck
bucky can't help the quirk upwards his mouth does, a small chuckle leaving his mouth before he can stop it
"This is really uncool of you man, why are you laughing at my MISFORTUNE"
"you steal coupons i don't think you can really talk about being 'uncool' kid"
This girl all but choked on the pizza slice she'd been stress eating
Bucky Barnes just called her uncool
the
audacity
"I am the coolest person in this building"
"you just confessed to to theft"
"so?"
"i didn't even say anything to you"
silence
braincells hard at work trying to reply
"....I-..... shut up"
"What's your name kid?"
"You called me uncool, you don't get to know my name"
she turns and closes the door, Bucky laughs and does the same
they managed to somehow bump into each other even more after that, with Bucky asking if she stole anymore coupons and Alpine challenging him (and losing) to staring contests
it always ends with her telling him to fuck off and closing the door annoyed that he wins
does he get paid to stare or something
she practices in the mirror because god dammit she will win one of these days
she loses to her reflection
how is it's even possible she doesn't know
but she swears at that mirror every day for a week after
he still asks for her name, she still doesn't give it
annoyed that he called her uncool and hasn't even apologised for it
or taken it back
"Seiously, I can't keep calling you kid, you gotta have a name"
"I'm not telling you my name, you'll just have to guess."
too much effort
with a frown he shrugs
"Fine, I guess I'll just call you.... Alpine"
"You just named me like I was your pet, shocking behaviour Sarge."
That was when he realised she knew who he was
she knew who he was
and still talked to him
he can't help but keep his distance after that
but, she keeps watching him nonetheless, making sure he's looking after himself
he still doesn't eat properly, she thinks
and it annoys her
if he starves to death before she wins a staring competition
she will kill him
it all came to a boiling point when he came home, mumbling angrily about his therapy session and about having no food in the fridge because he was too annoyed to go to the store after the session
his door slammed close and she stopped for a minute
she'd never seen him that angry
so, with all the determination a 21 year old can muster to care for a 106 year old
she cooked him dinner
it was simple, she'd say if he asked
she'd cooked to much
that old cliche
but in reality, she had no idea what she was doing
in the end she made some sort of chicken fried rice
it wasn't much but it would do
when Bucky heard the knocking on his door he contemplated not even answering
probably a lost delivery boy
when it happened again
and again
and again
until
"OH MY GOD ARE YOU FUCKING DEAD?!"
a genuinely panicked screech from the hallway
groaning he opened the door and stared at the girl, catching her hand before she could bang on the door again
"You're very persistent"
"YOU'RE ALIVE THANK GOD"
she nearly went to hug him, but he stopped her by putting a hand on her forehead, keeping her at a distance
"You're a weird kid"
"Shut up and come eat dinner with me, I made too much"
and he would have said no
but she looked genuinely upset at the fact she thought he was dead, a hand resting on her heart
"..."
"i'm taking silence as a yes."
with that she grabs his arm and drags him to her apartment, barely letting him close the door
Whilst she went about sorting out their dinner, serving it up and getting them some drinks
in the meantime, Bucky took a look around, awkwardly, as you do
it was a normal apartment for someone living in their 20s. Not too clean but not too messy, nothing indecent thrown around the place. a few empty cans but that was it
mail on the counter in the hall
Bucky took a chance and glanced at it, maybe he could get her name if he just looked
Alpine
what the fuck
"What are you doing?"
man drops the letter and looks like a deer caught in headlights for about three seconds, looking at the grinning girl
wait- grinning?
"You're a bit late sarge, I looked at your mail the first day you moved in."
what
the
fuck
"You looked at my mail?"
"You can't exactly talk now can you? now come on, foods up."
they sat and ate the dinner she cooked together, talking and getting to know each other, teasing about the fact she thought he was dead
it was nice
it felt like... he had Steve back
he had a family
but he couldn't help his curiosity
"You aren't... scared of me?"
she shrugs
"You could have broken my whole damn arm when i tried to hug you earlier, you're not a monster Sargent Barnes. I trust you"
there it was, the words he'd always needed to hear
you are not a monster
he nods silently, looking up at her as she takes their dishes to put in the sink
"Hey kid?"
"yeah old man?"
"You're pretty cool, y'know that"
"..."
"Nice try, I'm sticking with Alpine"
"Damn it"
